I think you don't know Chico Bento, a Brazilian comic book about a country boy. There is a classic story of his about a new born sister dying and becoming a star. AJ reminds me of him, uses a hat like his all the time, and was looking at the shooting stars like him to his deceased sister...

I can't think of a plot for this that isn't a rehash of Applebuck Season. Probably will have to think harder, because I know there's a good story in here somewhere.

This, on the other hand, does not sound like Applejack to me. As far as I can tell, she loves being the dependable pony.

I guess if you take the resentment bit out, though, you could make it an episode about how her friends need to return the favor when Applejack has a bit of a rough spot (for whatever reason)?

quality isn't that big a deal for me, and I love memes so I have to watch ads to see if a GAK 2.0 pops up.

I don´t understand why so many people calls this episode "boring". I laughed all the way, Applejack is great for comedy.

How many people is "so many people"? I don't see that many around here. Maybe one or two, I think.

Although I agree that AJ works well as a straight mare to everyone else, she could still carry an episode herself if the writers were prepared to get her out if her comfort zone, like they've done with everyone else...Pinkie having to be responsible...RD trying to secretly take up reading...Fluttershy being a model etc.

To this day, I still say Applebucking Season was her best episode, for the reasons stated above. AJ is way out of her depth, and it's shown so well. This one was good though. Just want to reinforce that.

I see they're finally crediting the voice actors properly. I think Half-baked Apple was the guy in the Baby AJ flashback. His mark consisted of half apples.

Yeah, I can't imagine AJ resenting her dependability, but I can see her getting irked when ponies start requesting her assistance for more and more stuff, eventually culminating with her constantly being asked to help with stuff that the other ponies really should be able to do on their own. Sort of like that episode of the Powerpuff Girls where they go on strike because they keep getting summoned to do stuff like opening pickle jars. So it wouldn't be that AJ resents being dependable, but she resents people taking advantage of her.

@Applelight: I definitely agree that Applebuck Season was her best episode. It's the only way I can realistically imagine her having a real breakdown.
