You know what I'd like to see in that official guide coming out? An official map of at least the three main cities (Ponyville, Canterlot, Cloudsdale). We already have our general map of Equestria, and the way Canterlot looks whenever we get a big side shot of it makes me wonder how it would look if they ever, say, make a proper video game of some kind where you explore Canterlot. Does it actually wrap around the mountain a little (we know there's a small airship port around the corner)? Where's Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, and how big is its campus? These are the questions I ask when watching a children's show, apparently.

And for that matter, where is Magic Kindergarden?
That would be running a punchline into the ground.

Magic Kindergarten is probably in the schoolhouse next door :V It's a former guard barracks renovated and converted accordingly.

Actually, come to think of (now that I've found a decent screenshot) I think the palace is a separate building (where the Gala is held) from the rest of the city. The rest of the city looks like a single (extremely fancy) building when we know there are multiple buildings... Chaos Architecture, much?

Maybe Discord built Canterlot, before he was killed to death.

Luna helped build Canterlot. She used dream architecture so the city could subtly reshape itself as needed.
That would be running a punchline into the ground.

I expect the outside of Canterlot City to be enclosured by a large wall, so it looks like a massive building from the outside.

What I'm thinking is that it is almost impossible to attack. The Changelings failed because they couldn't navigate without overwatch, who were getting shot down constantly.

Changelings were only able to take the city because of infiltration and capture techniques. Isolated pockets of resistance mounted a stronger battle than Chrysalis anticipated.

He's not dead, he just spends most of his time stoned, and rock-hard for the princesses. tongue

I think that the second time around, the Element beam ripped him apart internally. If we see him again, he definitely will not survive.

Right now, he has a nice pigeon guano laminate from vengeful feathered fiends resentful of the havoc he had wreaked upon them.

Also Luna strengthened the Order that binds Discord by subjecting him to dictated Sessions of Economical Audit and Assessments. Nothing like the drone of read accountancy documents to trap him in numbers and rigid monetary order.

Hey, I have a question if anyone who's paid more attention to the show could tell me. Why can't Scootaloo fly?

It's implied that the CM Cs are late bloomers and Rainbow Dash said she was the first in her class to get a cutie mark, which suggests she was younger than they are. Yet, she could fly at the time. Even Fluttershy presumably had a non-zero ability to fly, although I guess she might be a little older than Rainbow Dash.

So, shouldn't Scootaloo be able to fly by now?

Because she hasn't had the growth spurt to her wings and magical field to increase her Lift output yet.

Scoot's ability is improving, slowly. She's still relatively young.

My head canon for the Crusaders' ages, from oldest to youngest is: Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Sweetie Belle.

Yeah, but why not? Like I said, it seems like she's older than Rainbow Dash was. Rainbow Dash was the first in her class to get a cutie mark, and she could fly well at that time.

Could it be that Scoot's a late bloomer in more than one way? Maybe she needs to start a "Wing Growth Spurt Crusaders" companion organization.

Maybe Scootaloo is a late bloomer and Rainbow Dash was something of a prodigy.

[up][up] Huh. I would have pegged Sweetie Belle as the youngest.

Foals mature at different rates, the same as people.

@ Kyler: That's what I said.

At first I thought you meant the Hari Seldon version.

@Kyler - Yeah, I guess I can buy RD being a flying prodigy.

I dunno, it just seems weird that both Rainbow Dash and to a lesser extent Fluttershy could fly before they got their cutie marks. This suggests that pegasi usually learn to fly before they get their cutie marks, but Scootaloo's only focused on her cutie mark and never stresses about flight.

Oh well, I guess MST3K Mantra applies, and besides, I'm only using a sample size of two ponies to draw conclusions about a third.
