Fluttershy is probably older than Rainbow Dash, but was a weak flyer as a filly. She's still a relatively weak flyer.

Scoots has been seen hovering before, though. Perhaps she was too busy mastering her scooter to be bothered with flying until she realized just how important it is?

@Topazan: When Lauren Faust was still working on the show, she wanted Scootaloo to be a disabled pegasus. There was even an episode planned where Scoots would come to terms with the fact that she'd never be able to fly.

But, since Faust is no longer working on the show, and the policy is "If it's not in the show, it's not canon yet", the current showrunners could allow Scoots to fly. And she is hovering a bit more in season 3 than she was before.

I'm really glad "Disabled Scoots" didn't come to pass. That would be a little too depressing for this show, IMO.

@Meta - Ah! That makes a lot of sense. I had heard something about her being disabled before, but I thought it was just a fanon theory. That actually sounds like a good idea, but I'll be surprised if they go with it at this point.

Get something good and cheap. A nice basic set of Audio Technica cans should do the trick.

I'll have a look around in a supermarket or something. There's bound to be something there.

Other brands to look at include TDK and Sharp.

If you have the money to spend on some more expensive headphones, they can be well worth the investment. I got a pair of Sennheiser headphones for about $90. Not only do they sound great, but they've lasted me about seven years so far.

I got this sweet set of Audio Technica ATH-M20 cans from over 10 years ago, back when it cost S$89. Bought a backup pair recently, and the price had dropped to S$59 :D

I'm just going get the ones which have a microphone on them and are cheap.

Civ 5 costs £30.

Scoots is learning

As I've said before, I like the idea of disbled Scootaloo. My mother was disabled and I like the idea of an energetic girl like Scootaloo being disabled and showing that on can still have a relatively normal life that way.

Earlier, there was some discussion on season quality. I'm going to say that I strongly disagree with the thought that the worst season 2 episodes were worse than the worst season 1 episodes. In my tier list, the entire bottom tier was filled with season 1 episodes. In fact:

Tier 1: 7 season 2 eps. 2 season 1 eps.

Tier 2: 3 season 2 eps. 6 season 1 eps. 3 season 3 eps.

Tier 3: 7 season 2 eps. 4 season 1 eps. 2 season 3 eps.

Tier 4: 7 season 2 eps. 3 season 1 eps.

Tier 5: 9 season 1 eps.

But of course, I'm a big season 2 fan.

Season 1 was more consistent overall. Season 2 had higher highs but lower lows.

Man, that was a good episode! Poor Scoots. I'm really glad to see that Dash has now officially taken her under her wing, though - that was heartwarming.

Also, Luna's dream aspect and manifesting in the moon? Really cool. I'm gonna need to reread ITAV soon enough...
