I feel like even during her heyday a thousand years ago, if Luna used the Royal Canterlot Voice, it was either reassuring to her subjects (because they expected it from their princesses) or used to scare off nightmares. =)

Season comparison? I consider s2 much better that s1 in true Growing the Beard style (if it could apply if show started as very good), and s3 is even better.

People say that s2 was hit and miss. But for me it was always hit. (Sometimes hit and sometimes critical hit :D).

Season 2 have Highest Tier episode and those are better than top s1 episodes. Even the Lowest Tier (not bad, still good but much worse when compared to other) I think off any s2 episode to put in that category, even Sisterhoof Social (that one I point as weakest, least fav from season) is more enjoyable than those weakest from season 1: "Griffon the Brush Off", "Look Before You Sleep", "A Dog and Pony Show" (I never found it near awesome like many say it is, despite being this being adventure I prefer "Suited For Success" as Rarity episode, "Owl's Well That Ends Well".

I mostly agree, although I thought The Mysterious Mare-do-Well was the series' weakest episode. I loved more or less every single episode so far, though^^

Season 1 had 'A Dog And Pony Show', 'Look Before You Sleep', 'Party of One', 'Dragonshy'... Season 2 had 'The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well'.

I'm very easy to please, MMDW really was the only episode so far that had me going "That's all?" at the end. But the average season 2 episode was better than season 1's, and season 3 is even better so far o/ (I actually liked Sombra.)

Also, am I the only one surprised most websites count Iron Will as an antagonist? The guy seemed like he genuinely wanted to help ponies become more assertive so they could stand for themselves, and didn't make a fuss when Fluttershy pointed out his "satisfied or no charge"...

Well, he's the antagonist in that he's the one going against what the protagonists want (in this case, a Fluttershy who doesn't throw her weight around). It doesn't mean he's a villain or even a bad guy.

Sombra is my favorite villain, way he was in episode worked pretty well for me.

And I'm annoyed by counting Iron Will as villain or antagonist. He was as much as Antagonist as Photo Finish. He wanted to help ponies and he was reasonable. Antagonist in that episode was Flutershy herself and maybe everyone who pushed her around.

And as I said, I strongly disagree. I mostly agree with Death here.

MMDW is really underrated as I've said repeatedly. I'm not even convinced it was the worst season 2 episode. It definately wasn't the worst episode of all.

I strongly preffered it to Show Stoppers, Call of the Cutie, Owl's Well That Ends Well, Look Before You Sleep, Applebuck Season, Ticket Master, Fall Weather Friends, Griffon the Brush Off and Over a Barrel.

But of course, YMMV. For example Red, I don't consider the season 1 episodes you listed to be the best of season 1. That's Suited For Success and Green isn't your Color. And I prefer Canterlot Wedding, Hurricane Fluttershy, Lesson Zero, Return of Harmony and, It's About Time to them.

I'll gladly agree with you on 'Suited For Success', but 'Green Isn't Your Color' just felt a little... I dunno, generic to me. Maybe that's it - Season 2 had more room to do plots that were show- and character-specific, since most of the expected groundwork had already been done with S1?

@Red: That does make sense. I must admit though, that I think that Rarity works best in more "generic" plots. She brings them to life.

Probably the main problem is that we never see what Photo Finish gets up to next, also the consequences of Fluttershy walking out of the Supermodel business.

Well, I'm sure Photo found a new supermodel to replace her.

@Ace: She seems just as peppy and oblivious as ever in her cameo in 'Sweet and Elite', so.

I do think that we've repeatedly provn that every episode has both raging fans and extreme detractors though.

@Red: She probably found a new model walking by and promptly forgot about Fluttershy :V

Funny thing is that there are still issues of Fluttershy's fashion magazines still scattered about Ponyville as of One Bad Apple, where Pinkie flips to the centerfold on a Fluttershy issue
