@D Roy: Maybe because you keep a horse, there's a bit of taboo of getting too close, lol.

One thing to note is that Equestrians are people too in their own way, so maybe you're just uncomfortable with Interspecies Romance.

@lopiny: Nah, it's chill. As long as we don't see recruitments for the War Against the House of Mouse around here and flamewars erupting, it's fine.

Xenophilia. I saw a fic in the feature box that was based on it titled A Xenophile's Guide to Equestria. Reading the summary blurb I was at a loss as to the point or appeal.

Even though the denizens of Equestria proved their sentience in more than enough occasions, whenever I read of an Equestrian and a human character getting romantically involved, I find it quite unnerving.

@ace Understood. Also, let's move on, I started taking my own gag seriously and I apologize for it.

Human on pony, the concept itself tends to deter the better writers and most of your audience, leaving you with the sue-ish self-inserts and the kind of audience that enjoys sue-ish self inserts (or enjoys human on pony so much they don't mind), which creates further stigma. So staying away from such fics tends to be a good idea even if you don't mind the concept itself.

@Lopiny: If I ever decided to take a swing at the idea for some reason (which is about as likely as me winning an olympic medal), I don't think I'd be able to keep myself from deconstructing it. Like you'd have somebody who feels a real emotional attachment for one of the characters, but due to the species differences is completely uncomfortable with even considering the idea of pursuing it. Like "I'd totally ask X out if they were human, but..."
