The problem with that is that nopony else fits The Big Guy role.

The roles are not mutually exclusive, and there are no rules saying that any particular role has to be filled.

I could actually see Twilight as a Genius Bruiser style of Big Guy. I mean, with all her magic I could easily see her doing the 'heavy lifting', as it were. Though she's less aggressive, but then again the Big Guy isn't always a fighter type.

Keggy has a point.

Big guy Role is easy to fill, Rainbow Dash is brash, dumb, and her first choice to resolve a situation is to hit it real hard both figuratively and literally. AJ has similar principles only slower and more likely to take a practical solution. plus she's probably the strongest of the team.

Smart Guy candidates are obviously Twilight and Rarity. Rarity isn't the smartest person on the team but arguable if you want the person with the most sense besides Twilight it's either her or AJ and AJ is a practical sort, not Smart Guy material. Only reason why we don't just drop Twilight in this spot instantly is because as the protagonist she has The Hero duties.

The Lancer role is dependent on who we decide who the leader is. If It's Rainbow Dash, then the Lancer would be Applejack or Twilight but I wouldn't put RD in that position unless I was paid a large sum. If the Hero was AJ the best Lancer candidate would be Rarity with Pinkie being a far second because she isn't very defiant despite having vastly different principles and methods to AJ's practicality.

And If we default to Twilight as the hero then the choices are rather easy. RD is a loyal second in command sort and is obviously differing method to Twilight and I'm sure there are plenty of times where she'd prefer to take charge because the others are being too cerebral or slow. AJ would also work because she's a good leader-type without actually being a leader and would be a good ground to Twilight's tendency to plan and complicate.

And there's my first choice to be Twilight's lancer is Pinkie because we have an excellent Rational/Irrational thing going on and Pinkie would just go ahead and do her thing because she's a bit too air headed to follow orders properly but doesn't have the chops to be a proper leader while Twi would technically be opposing her decision while still being the one in charge.

The Chick is almost too easy to delegate, I mean Fluttershy is quiet, demure, pretty by Equestria's standards, sings, has empathic affinity for woodland creatures, the role was practically made for her. But of course there's Also Rarity who has the classiness, knowledge of status, and uselessness of one that would be the Chick.

well it IS confirmed that Disney is talking to hasbro about something, though the other rumor is that it is JUST the toy rights to Star Wars they are trying to get, not the whole thing.
