I don't think the deal will go through. Hasbro doesn't strike me as wanting such a deal, and I've seen smaller deals getting ended due to monopoly laws.

Although I'm probably letting my hopes taint my thoughts.

I have a feeling they can't afford Hasbro lol. The cost of the combination of Transformers, Nerf, ponies, Barbie, etc. is hypothetically larger than Disney would really want to invest. (Besides Disney has its own toy factories/manufacturers, they certainly don't need Hasbro!)

Disney buying Hasbro doesn't mean that it'd all get marketed under the Disney brand. They'd probably just sit and quietly collect revenue.

Hilarious in Hindsight? And it does make a scary amount of sense that Disney would want to own Hasbro (aside from World Domination) since Hasbro currently makes Marvel and Star Wars toys...

You know what? If it allows for some crazy My Little Pony, Transformers, G.I. Joe, Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney crossover madness, I'm all for it.

Theo nly time I've known Disney to be unkind to their franchises is with sub-par sequels and series... HOPEFULL even in the event that they do Aqcuire Hasbro they'll have the good-damn sense not to rock the boat any more than to, say, make a feature-length movie.

There's also the issue of Disney's incredibly strict handling of people making use of their stuff. We'd likely be saying goodbye to youtube uploads, which means I'd no longer be able to watch.

I personally doubt that they could afford it all though. They probably want one of the franchises.

(For the record, Hasbro now includes Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons because it owns Wizards of the Coast. Waaaaaaaaay more than Disney can afford I should calculate!)
