talk about how same sex pony coples have foals.
also, i'm reading a fic where RD writes a clop fic about her and Twi's mom.
No the fic itself is not a clop fic, and yes It Makes Sense in Context

This is really a place that I prefer to go with Like Reality Unless Noted. The whole "how do same sex couples have children" problem is probably dealt with the same way it is in real life.
Well, yeah, but there is a point where the ponies might be able to handle it differently and it's interesting to speculate. I mean, I could easily see how they might have some interesting magical magic.
heh love just putting some random 100% true description about a story out there that is still total WTF
The fic is about Two and RD having a contest about which is better in a story, Action, or detail, they choose a genre out of a hat and get romance, so they each try to write a story to prove which style is best, RD's is just a clop fic with her and the author of the Daring Do books, who in this fic is Twi's mom.
@ Lurker, yeah I agree it's most likely the way real coples do, everything is just seeing what other ways we can come up with, even knowing they're bull

Actually, interesting to note: It's entirely possible for a lesbian couple to have a child together. A female egg cell can be altered and made into a sperm cell. However, the resultant child will ALWAYS be female, as there are two sets of double-X chromosomes.
The more you know!

@kegisak - Ooh, fascinating.
As I find so much pleasure in that melts like my breath, I am always full of regret.
Sometimes it is both stupid and interesting to speculate about Equestria's technology level.

Mostly I see the primary tech level of Equestria to be primarily pre-Industrial Revolution, with places like Manehatten and the more up-to-date corners of Canterlot having more advanced things. There are some exceptional devices around like the Flim-Flam's automatic cider press and the Taffy machine in Sugarcube Corner, but for the most part modern technology is not very common in Equestria. (Seriously they still use firefly lamps!)
Necessity is the mother of invention, and (presumably) Equestria has been without any sort of invention-driving conflict for at least a thousand years. In that type of society, invention comes for reasons of entertainment or enjoyment, like better ways to make cider, or arcade machines, or film projectors. Add magic to the mix, and it becomes rather clear that technology advances when ponies feel like it, rather than any sort of regular pace or because of any sort of need.

Plus, the Frech voice of Flutterguy is even better than the English one.
@Kegisak: Funny you should bring that up; back in season 1, that was part of my headcanon for why there seemed to be so many more mares than Stallions. In the cases of same-sex couples, the females would be able to have children via that method (magically), and always have female babies, whereas males who had to go through the surrogate process had equal chances of having a male or female foal. Over time it skewed the gender ratios towards a female majority.

@Lurker: One thing is clear though, they don't really make much use of mass production. The only hints at any factory-level mass production are Cherry Jubilee's cherry factory, the Cider Squeezy 6000, and the near-identical glass jars Granny hoards.
Huh. that's an interesting they, Jteeth. Makes sense, heh. My roommate figured Equestria was at war, and I figured we just didn't see all that many of them - which come season two seems to be more and more right.

How good is a horse or pony's memory? I understand if this sounds odd, but this is a question that's been nagging at me when it comes to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Think about it. I'm sure that their memory is not on par with an elephant's (I wonder if elephants will appear in this show, but I digress). I'm pretty sure that the ponies have relatively good memories, because that's a requirement for a show that has an Aesop at the end of each episode, isn't it? Sure, the Cutie Mark Crusaders seem to have short term memories when it comes to learning lessons about their talents or getting their cutie marks, but you could say that they're kids, and kids seem to have a hard time remembering stuff.
Then there's the fact that the Canterlot ponies seem to be extremely forgetful when it comes to the Main 6. Let's see...the Main 6 disrupted the Grand Galloping Gala and they got a big celebration for defeating Discord. Despite this, practically none of the Canterlot seem to recognize or remember anything about Main 6, especially by "Sweet And Elite".
That's why I'm wondering how good a horse or pony's memory is!
