well, there we go, done with FOE. Certainly the longest fanfic I've ever read. But the ending...I wanted a bit more closure than that. So, they did manage to activate the Gardens of Equestria...so then who were the other elements? They were still one short, right? They had kindness, laughter, loyalty, honesty, magic in the form of friendship...where was generosity? Did I miss something or did they really find the last element offscreen? The Pair the Spares at the end also kinda bugged me. I mean, Ditzy and Lionheart? Seriously? and did they really have to go all Memento in chapter 44?

all that said, it was definitely a worthwhile read, no doubt about that.

hmm...now just how much spinoff material do I have to go through...

I'm glad you enjoyed FoE, and agree with you on the ending. Rather annoying that so many things were Left Hanging or resolved offscreen. Still a decent story though, for what it's worth. If you're curious about spinoffs, I'd be happy to recommend a few.

Funny, since even modern animal glues are not made from equines.

On a different subject I keep being confused when people keep saying that Dash turned into a jerk in the second season when in my opinion she was significantly less of a jerk in season two then in season one.

I think it was also because the show actually drew attention to it unlike in season one.

Also one can at least make the argument that she was trying to be helpful in that situation.

Yeah, she got smashed up and was callous equal amounts in both seasons. People just seem to remember it this season because it was the root cause of one of the least liked episodes of the season.

Heck, her Establishing Character Moment was her smashing into Twilight, bragging about how great she was, messing up Twilight's mane, then laughing at her.

Yeah most of it is due to Merriweather Williams no being able to write Dash right, first MMDW, then she was rather bitchy in HWE, and the crowd that thinks she was being extra jerky in MTBPW.

@Seraphem: I'm still of the opinion that Dash was "better behaved" this season then last. Even when you take into account Merriweather (I think she came out better then her friends did in MMDW).

I always felt in the first season that she was more selfish, insensitive, immature, and generally took her friends for granted. Not so much in season two.

Dogs would technically make better truffle hunters since they won't try to eat them.

I don't know exactly which animals my glue is made from, just that its made from hide and hooves. Could be pigs, or horses, or I've heard that cattle are sometimes used.

I had a dream where at some point a purple pony, I think Cherilee, asked someone else if their cutie mark had changed. I was going to post it in the forums as evidence that cutie maks could change but then when I tried to remember what episode it was from, I realized it hadn't actually happened and was just a dream.
