@Mio: I personally think this season was a mixed bag when it comes to RD. Yes, it did treat her shortcomings more realistically, but at the same time I think it glossed over other areas of her personality a little.

I need more props for my ponies for amusing photo-taking :V

Someone needs to figure out how to send tourists to the moon, so we can get a picture of a Luna toy there. Actually, the ponies have been pretty much everywhere except space already, right?

@J Teeth: True, I also think that she became much more stereotypical as well. I was more commenting on the fact that I think she was less of a jerk this season, and I felt that she was a better friend too.

I believe an RD figurine got hauled up on a weather balloon, which went high enough to capture the curvature of the earth.

I don't have the picture on me though.

Hurricane Fluttershy was a good example of the Dash we should get more often.

@JT I'd disagree. Even her most callous moments this season were offset either by personal realization or other small actions. She only ended up going overboard in MMDW after receiving tons of praise for repeatedly and successfully saving several ponies because she was willing and able to selflessly leap into action at a moment's notice. In MTBPW, she realized that in the end she valued Tank's loyalty over the "coolness" of the other potential pets, which actually mirrored her own character. She's even spent nearly the entire season trying to encourage Fluttershy in various ways, bringing her along to get cider, trying to get her to come see the Dragon Migration, and the entirety of Hurricane Fluttershy.

@Perpetual: True. I just think an episode like "Sonic Rainboom" that showed her vulnerability a bit more would have helped. "Read it and Weep" kinda does.

@J Teeth: Even though Ri&W was entertaining I felt it was too hamfisted and stereotypical, even for RD.

That reminds me. Someone should edit the fanclub scene in MMDW so it's about the Daring Do Well.

@Ace: Well, she gave a funny look when Fluttershy apologized for Rainbow's behavior, so maybe not that bit.

Indeed. This was still at the stage when Dash still thought of Fluttershy as baggage. She was probably less impressed and more upset at being shown up by her demure counterpart (see the prank at the end).

I think the real turning point didn't come for awhile yet (post-Sonic Rainboom probably).

Honestly, the Derpygate is getting kinda old, she'll be with us in our fanons foreeeeeeeeeeeeeverrr.

It hasn't even affected fanon, except for some new parodies like Raincloud.

Not to mention that even after Derpygate she got her own limited addition custom toy. I don't think there's much reason to be worried about the character's future when she's been showing up on a regular basis in official materials ever since the controversy.

Derpy is not going anywhere. We will always love her.

Yeesh, I barely even remember all that. Let's keep it that way.

Derpy has slowly turned into my favorite background pony, mostly due to fanfic portrayals.

The Spa Sisters are still the most aesthetically pleasing ponies though.
