The Freeman, never have I agreed so strongly with someone. We're the same kind of person, at least when it comes down how we view fandoms.
Yes, quite a lonely world when you're sane...
You can't stop what's coming.
I basically entered the show going "Ha, I can't believe I'm watching this" and then by like the fifth or sixth episode I realized "I'm still watching this..." and never stopped.
I analyze "Geek Culture" here.
When All Else Fails, worry, that's the 14 way.
Me too. It's just the same every time.

Not feeling forced to watch it, I like it so far.
I was a little less bitter about the hype, then I got curious about the show before watching.
You can't stop what's coming.
I'm curious—did any of you head of Lauren Faust before the ponydom?

I'd never heard of her, but now that I look at it, she worked on a lot of stuff I watched.
Could someone convert
this
into an avatar friendly form? My computer doesn't work well with avatars.

Nope, didn't know anything about her until ponies.
Which I then learned she was behind PPG and Foster's with
Mc Cracken, both I loved very much.
OH GOD MEMORIES

It has potential to be sterotypical "Celestia will be mad ha ha nope Chuck Testa", but I have faith that they won't do that.

....wow, that hits how I feel pretty well.
Despite barely knowing anything so far about the show, but yeah.
You can't stop what's coming.
Spike didn't really seem to be in it for the girly stuff, though. He wanted to show his friends doughnut shops and stuff and he didn't hang around when the party started. I still think he should have gone with Pinkie. She was the least centred around something that couldn't include him.

With me, it kind of went:
- Haven and Gelzo making pony references on Cockatrice and in the Magic: The Gathering thread.
- Visit the memes page to see what they're referencing
- Watch a couple of the linked youtube videos
- Become hooked on Fluttershy's "yaaaay"
- Start watching in the order on the recap page
- Become hooked
- Start working "20% cooler" into nearly every conversation
- ??????
- Profit!
"Hm. No choice. I think we're going to need to do something awesome." - Holden Shearer
I think I first heard about it through
Tv Tropes with various posters' avatars, but hearing someone mention it in real life also made me more inclined to check it out.
