Evening everypony. What's going on?

We're all taking a drink after that.

@Blue Spade: I noticed how you didn't mention the CMC's when you said that the mane 6 and Spike are "Extremely well rounded, deep characters with a lot of thought put into their personalities and interaction".tongue[lol]

In all honesty, I'd be totally cool if they followed up on the Big Macintosh/Cheerilee thing. Just saying.

[up]I don't think they're flat, but I don't think they're mane cast caliber either. They need to have better defined roles in the group that allow for conflict. As is, they basically get along perfectly unless some outside force messes it up.

But nearly all the other characters are one dimensional and extremely exaggerated, flat characters. I would love to see some new recurring characters.

That's only because they never get screentime. Big Mac, Cherilee, and the Mayor have all gotten a little development.

Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

@Mio: They aren't, but I wouldn't call them flat either. They're better developed than most non-mane cast characters.

I was just thinking that myself. Let's see how fast we can make it go! *thread dies*

My headcanon is that Big Mac and Cheerilee have been dating since the events of Hearts and Hooves Day. They're not nearly as mushy about it, though.

I know. Hopefully we can cure the jynx. What is it, spend an hour without looking at Cherilee?

@J Teeth: With as much screen time as they get you would think their personalities would be better developed.

Most of the time there is really not all that much to set them apart unless the episode focuses specifically on them (Scootaloo has suffered the most from this).

That is a good point. I wonder why they don't develop the CMC as much.

The thought just occurred to me; you guys don't talk about mules much here.

Well, I guess, for you mammals, Mules would be an awfully embarrassing and sensitive subject.

If I had the choice, I'd much rather see Big Macintosh, the Mayor, Cheerilee, the Cakes, etc. get developed more than getting any new characters.

Personally I don't find any of them to be very interesting characters (though I guess it would be possibly interesting to see what she's like out of the class room) so I'd rather see new characters.

I noticed how you didn't mention the CMC's when you said that the mane 6 and Spike are "Extremely well rounded, deep characters with a lot of thought put into their personalities and interaction".

JT totally answered for me:

Well me and Dottie have been posting all day and we never shut the hell up, so that probably helps. Also we had several minor derails. But yeah, it's definitely been faster, especially the Yack Fest thread.

We don't know enough about Mules to say much about them.
MCs on the paper with their murder metaphors need to deal with the literal resurrector.

@Mio: And now you just summed up one of the reasons why I hate the fact that the CMC's got too many episodes to themselves in season 2.tongue

She had a little differentiation in CMC as the non mushy one.

Well it isn't like they show up on the show that much. Give us a mule character and we'll have something to talk about.

You know, Big Mac/Cheerilee could work. I wouldn't mind it. I might even like it.

We talk about them quite a bit in proportion to their screen time.

I think the single biggest difference between the Mane 6 and the CMC is that the Mane 6 get more character based stories and the CMC get more plot focused stories. This is either a result of or the reason that the CMC aren't as developed.
