If anything, the lack of very special someponies for the Mane Six sends the implicit message that there's more to life than romance. I can't disagree with that.

MCs on the paper with their murder metaphors need to deal with the literal resurrector.

Rarity is very flawed, but still good at heart without being a Jerk with a Heart of Gold archetype. Even though she's far from my favorite, she is an interestingly constructed character.

About Rainbow getting a boygriend:

I bet it's Soarin. I mean, I know it's not real. But still, it'll be Soarin.

Waaaaay too predictable. Plus if she did get with him it would be because she admired him based on a fantasized version of him she constructed from small glimpses of him from afar. There's no way he could live up to that, it wouldn't be a good foundation for a relationship.

I've always been partial to the idea of Soarin getting interested and asking out Applejack, and having Rainbow deal with her jealousy on the matter. I imagine she'd be stalking them throughout their date getting angrier and thinking up ways to sabotage it (before the inevitable moral less on course).

No, not at all. Does everyone forget that Batman is an incredibly grim, perpetually serious, extremely unhappy man who has no interest in anything remotely fun? Nightwing, on the other hand...

@Applelight: I wouldn't mind too much if it came up once and was resolved in that episode. I just wouldn't want it to become a recurring element. Like Meta said, the show is likely trying to get away from the idea that girls are obsessed with romance, and bringing in a recurring romantic interest would kinda mess that up.

@Bluespade: Eh, she has had some contact with him beyond just eyeing him from a far and I don't see anything wrong with going for the predictable couple, especially in this kind of show.

As to your idea, it's interesting but I don't see it going over well with the audience.
