And then I showed up. What's going on?

And then I made a page topper.

Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

I don't see the similarity, apart from RD being black.

Well, given that not many artists draw RD as black...

Black? Last time I checked, RD was sky blue.

@story - [lol]

@Seraphem - It has been a while since I watched season 1 so I can't say much. So I will have to give my very short, general impression on season 2.

While the humor is most definitely superb, I think some episodes suffered in delivery of aesops. There were episodes where the message was dependent on some newly introduced unpleasant characters or the canon characters acting out of character to various degrees.

It was very, very enjoyable, but I would not call it superb. This is a overly simple opinion coming from a philistine so feel free to disagree or disregard.

Yeah, message delivery is one of the places that the show can fumble every now and again, but I personally find that character consistency is one of the things that the show almost never screws up. It's part of why I love it so much.

@Lurker - Agreed.

Damn, Luna looks cool.

Ditto.

I can definitely agree with that; if there's one flaw the show really needs to work on, it's making sure the morals it lists are more consistent with the events. The events themselves are perfectly in character most of the time, but there are quite a few points where the lesson the character learns definitely isn't the thing you'd expect them to get out of it.

yeah it's just the Mane 6 are so fleshed out, so nuanced that they can act in ways that at first seem OOC, but are really just parts of there overall persaonlity coming through, like real people do.

and the Aesops, yeah some of them can be a bit clunky, but on the whole they handle it really really well.

only major OOC episode I can point at is MMDW, lso has the clunkiest, most anvillicious, most badly deleivered aesop too. FPK's aesop even the writers admit they bungled on that one.

@JT - Precisely.

By the way, who is your avatar? Is she a pony in the show that I missed?

Yeah, MMDW bobbled a bit. I think A Friend In Deed didn't do a lot better, but I'm sure nobody wants to hear me complain about that any more. tongue

[up]It's a ponified version of Palutena from Kid Icarus: Uprising.

So apparently Flight of the Alicorn has yet another cover art.

@JT - Yeah, I hated those episodes. Personally, I am also not a very big fan of It's About Time. It wasn't bad, but I personally believe that the writer(s) used WAY BIG plot elements for a regular episode.

Ah, I see. Haven't played that game so I couldn't tell.

You know I think you could interpret the characters in MMDW as in character, but only if you take a really cynical interpretation of the characters in this situation.

The thing with MMDW wasn't so much that the actions were inconceivable for those characters, but that the episode didn't give sufficient setup. Like I could imagine that in certain situations RD could get a giant head like that, but I don't think it would happen nearly as quickly are easily as the episode shows. Same with the rest of the cast; I can buy them deciding that if nothing else works, creating another superhero to show RD how it's supposed to be done would be a valid plan. I can't buy that they would jump right to that plan after only one attempt to talk RD down a bit.

[up] In this thread there are one or two posters who have complaints about his art style and work ethic, but outside of that I don't think he's that controversial in the fandom at large, unless you count the people who dislike the fact that he popularized Princess Molestia.
