What's the difference? You're just taking two people and putting them in a relationship. Canon ships just have the benefit of the people in question already being in a relationship.

I don't get the problem with PYHD. So some ponies are jerks, they're at a market and they want to either spend the least or earn the most money, of course they're not going to be handing things over for free and what not.

The Mane Six have a personality. The Cakes are fairly bland.

That level of willful plot-holeishness just didn't seem to fit in with the overall feel of the rest of the episodes. Yes some ponies can be jerks, but that much concentrated dickishness just doesn't seem like Equetria to me.

Doesn't explain the line cutting, ignoring said line cutting, blatant price gouging, some pony tossing Fluttershy over a crowd of ponies just for trying to squeeze into a spot.

Any one of the issues on there own, no biggie it was having all of them concentrated into one episoes that was to much

I guess I just don't put ponies on a pedestal then. Ponies are just as capable as being jerks as humans IMO.

@marston By "work more" do you mean that you have to change more about the characters? I personally see that as a rather large difference between shipping in fics and just casually shipping characters. Fics actually have the opportunity to justify the relationships with development. Casual shipping just automatically alters the characters to get the relationship to work. I know it's harmless, but it's just a pet peeve of mine.

Yep. If you've ever been in a crowded, unregulated marketplace on a busy day, you'll know that things can get a bit hairy. Not to mention that haggling is completely normal in those kinds of settings.

Not saying they are perfect, and again it wasn't any one individual thing, it was just the aggregate of all of them in one episode.

I guess Seraphem is trying to say that they are not being jerks because they are jerks or the situation says they would act that way but more for plot convenience purposes. I somewhat agree with that, but I still enjoy the episode.

@Lurker: No, that's not what I mean. What I mean't by "Work more" is that some of the pairings, like Raridash for instance, require alot more development {Maybe even charector development} and finding a way to make it work then others. They all require that kind of stuff though, some are just a bit harder to work with.

Of course, 90% of the time I just like shipping for the adorable pics that come around, so.......
