I think there are pony nations outside of Equestria.

, there is at least one stallion and a field of barley outside of Equestria, beyond the Everfree Forest—the map has since placed Everfree not on the edge of Equestria, but you could interpret "beyond" to mean "in the direction from Ponyville that the forest is in" (yes, I know I'm trying too hard

).

doesn't seem to be up in the snowy mountains. Might just be nearby.

Many countries try to deliberately place their capitols near their centre, so there's nothing surprising about Canterlot being in the centre of Equestria.

Also, why hasn't there been a globe to map comparison yet?
