Same here. Though I do watch shows that aren't on the air anymore, like Whose Line and Futurama (though that's getting more episodes now, but still)

That's why I just said Twilight. She brought them there and they caused all the ruckus. I don't think Twilight herself got to do anything.

I've been thinking a bit about the complaints of how the "Fluttershy goes completely ballistic" scene was out of character for her. As much as I love the scene, it did seem just a little out of character for her. But when you think about it, we've never really seen how Fluttershy would react to being rejected by something she's cared about so much. Just look at how excited she was to be with the animals in The Ticket Master. She never even thought of the possibility of the animals avoiding her. And it's not like we haven't seen her get angry before either, so we know it's possible. She didn't really even "snap" until the very end, where at that point she had tried everything she could for what appeared to be hours, and all ended up completely fruitless, and caused her to get frustrated and snap. There's also the fact that she doesn't even understand why the animals are avoiding her, which would probably frustrate her even more

We saw with Pinkie in "Party Of One", if a Pony's special talent doesn't work for her then she goes into Sanity Slippage. Obviously this might only be the mane cast because they're all slightly nuts, but it's a good theory.

Yeah, I don't really get why people say it's character derailment for a character to behave in a new way when put in a situation that's highly stressful for them and one we haven't seen them in before.

Hrrrrm, explaining it with their "special talents" and whatnot is really just an indirect way of saying "it's because they are what they are", since all those things only exist because they... are what they are.

Fluttershy is still a genuinely kind and caring person, but evidently, she also bases her self-worth on the affection she's given by others. Given how shy she is, she evidently never quite got over her failure in flight school. Probably got made fun of, maybe even seriously bullied.

I guess I know the kind of frustration that made her snap. You're like, hey, new people, they seem so nice, I'm gonna make friends with them and it'll be so nice. And then you just kinda can't connect with them, but you want to show what a nice person you are and all, but the more you try to show it, the more you push them away, and bam. Tear-your-hair-out frustration.

Or maybe her frustration and going crazy is just a variation of denial that comes from having come across animals that she thinks by all means should be attracted to her like a magnet and love her like all the animals in ponyville do.

"They don't love me? How could they possibly not love me? I'M FLUTTERSHY!"

Lauren Faust just announced she'll be stepping down from her role as executive producer to "consulting producer", ergo she won't be directly involved in the show anymore.
