I've never heard of that one. But I guess there are lots of memes I've never heard of.
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.
I finished Portal today on a (low-quality due to Xbox setup) livestream. I bought Portal 2 (well, mom did, but I paid her back :P) and started playing the first few chambers~

If I wasn't saving my money, I'd get both Portals.

How much have you had the plots spoiled?

@ed That brings up an interesting point on the subject of magical hybrids. Many fantasy settings simply have hybridization simply be a function of the creatures being inherently magical. This setting doesn't really have much of a precedent for that kind of hybrid, though... Except for the Griffins. They are half eagle, half lion, after all. Do we take their existence as an indicator that magical hybrids are possible, or do we simply assume that they occurred naturally?
Edit: Forgot about the Manticores and Cockatrices, though I forget what their classical mythological origins are.

Pretty much everything more taxing than Spelunky runs poorly on my laptop.

Hi everybody!
I started playing
Super Mario World again. It is
incredibly hard, even using an emulator and saving liberally.
How did I even manage to win it when I was ten or so, and on a SNES?

But they seem to
know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.
Maybe you're off your game?
Do it, Rockapella!
@Mario World I actually beat that game on an SNES recently, but I had to save scum using the ghost houses and 1up grind to do that. Not to mention I was 2 levels away from 100% completion, but the save data got lost, along with my interest.

Ever played
Ecco The Dolphin? If you take the 'normal' route, City of Forever is basically impossible, even on an emulator. I wonder what people did back in the day.

Threw their controllers at the TV?
Can you see the world like I do? Can you smile away the pain? Can you feel the cool wind blowing? Can you smell the coming rain?
Did you have much else to do back then?
Or maybe you just played more video games back then.
Yeah, that's probably it. Ten Years Old Me is very much disappointed in myself today, though
The Second Reality Project sounds cool, in any case. Perhaps I should give it a try.

Ecco is a bit too cerebral for my tastes.
Also, I remember someone back in the WA thread asking why I (13 years old at the time) was so interested in games that were older than I was. I have to cite the answer as "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection". A gateway into a great, much different era of gaming for a mere $30.

Well for me at least the week has been full of good news and bad news.

What do you want us to hear first?

The bad news is my aunt is dead. The good news is also my aunt is dead.

I take it you didn't like her?
I feel like I could touch the heavens, and sock angels.
Element of Indecision.
No. Didn't know her. She was in a bad car accident about 20 years ago. She had the mental capacity of a two year old.
Saw her once.
Creepy as hell.

Well...
I don't even know what to say about that.
I guess I'll say that I can emphasize, since I was volunteering in a retirement home/care center for two days, and I saw some Down Syndrome victims.
