Night, Broccoli.

Also, I have discovered that the Yack Fest needs something to talk about. So this is what I propose:

A three way comparison between our show, Sponge Bob Square Pants in it's heyday, and Spongebob now.

I believe that Mulp-Fim is popular among adults for being a children's show powerful and well-written enough to reach into the inner child of older viewers.

On the other hand, Spongebob attracted adults with it's clever jokes and themes that adults could relate to.

Neither of these traits are effectively captured by the newer seasons of Spongebob. While there are a few gems in the mound, many episodes are bland, or downright insulting. The characters' likeable traits have been overshone by the traits that the writers have decided to put greater focus on, and the jokes rely heavily on forced humor and gross-out sequences.

Any commentary from the other threadgoers?

I'm seen a few episodes, but not nearly enough to compare the seasons to each other. I haven't regularly watched cartoons on tv in years. tongue Back in the days of Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid!, Animaniacs...

In my eyes, so far nothing I've seen in FIM has surpassed sheer glory that is the ending of Band Geeks.
As I find so much pleasure in that melts like my breath, I am always full of regret.

[up]Yeah, upon hindsight, that's the greatest moment in TV cartoon history.

However, just wait until you finish Season 2...

Yes, that's why I said so far. tongue

I have only like seven more episodes to go.

I haven't watched enough Spongebob to say. But I'm lucky since it sounds like it's really gone downhill.

Is Band Geeks really that good? Maybe I should see if it's on Netflix.

I finished Bastion a little while ago. That game is quite amazing. It's not too often a game actually has a moral choice at the end that's difficult to decide on.

And the music works so well for the mood and tone of the game.

I need to see if Bastion will run on my laptop.

Also not too often that a New Game Plus is canon.

I can totally imagine this being used as a Leitmotif for Fluttershy:

It helps that she's such a similar character to Rydia. Now if only I could see Fluttershy could summon Bahamut...
Can you cool it with the Karn puns, Zennistrad? No problem. They were kinda Karny anyway.

Well, they did make a Pony Fantasy 6, so a Pony Fantasy 4 wouldn't be too far-fetched...
Do it, Rockapella!

On the behalf of Perpetual Lurker, I will post some Dynamite Headdy music that would be fitting for a flight scene.

More Artist Training Grounds stuff, let me know what you think:

  • Day 10
  • Day 11 (yes Rarity's horn is missing, maybe it's just hidden behind her hair)

EDIT: Haven't actually drawn Day 12 yet, whoops.

Yeah, will the families of the two mane cast Pegasi be shown in season three?

I still hold my headcanon that Fluttershy comes from a rich family, and her Earth Pony parents live in Manehattan. Her dad had an affair with a pegasus from Cloudsdale, and he's ashamed of Fluttershy for being an illegitimate child, so he sent her to live in Cloudsdale.
I feel like I could touch the heavens, and sock angels.

Element of Indecision.

MY headcanon is that FS's parents are rich too, but I think they're Pegasi. And I think it is likely that more pony parents will show up in season 3.

Fucking loopmounted filesystem keeps glitching up, and so I have to keep booting into a LiveCD to run fsck…

This is pissing me off greatly. If it doesn't stay fixed this time, I'm gonna say goodbye to 11.10, backup important files, then do a fresh install of 12.04.
