I think (Somewhat ironically, in the fanbases eyes) That Pinkie Pie is my least favorite. Not because I find her randomness annoying or anything, I still find her pretty fun...It's just that she doesn't feel like she's given a lot of characterization to me. next to all the other main girls, who are complex and interesting, she's just...her. I think out of the main cast, my preferences go, Fluttershy (Cause she so heart-meltingly cute), Rainbow Dash, then maybe a toss-up between Rarity and Twilight, then Applejack.

...But my favorite is either Luna or Trixie.

I can see that. She's good for a chuckle, but you're right, there isn't too much complexity behind it.

I do love some of her lines, though. Like this:

Spike: You know, Pinkie, these two ponies have a bit of a grudge match they try to settle, trying to prove who's the most athletic.
Pinkie: Yes! And grudge rhymes with fudge!
Spike: Yes it... does? What?
Pinkie: And I like fudge. But if I eat too much fudge I get a pudge and then I can't budge.
[beat]
Spike: So... no fudge?
Pinkie: Aw, no thanks. I had a big breakfast.

And this:

Pinkie: She'll become a crazy cat lady!
Twilight: She only has one cat.
Pinkie: Give her time...

I suppose it helps that she cares for her friends as much as she cares for herself. Most of the "fashion" characters in these shows only care about their own self image, but Rarity wants all her friends to be as fabulous as she is.

For the most part, yes. Though she still has her moments, like the fiasco in Sonic Rainboom. But only sometimes. (And even in that one case, Rarity was also the one to suggest they fly all the way up to Cloudsdale for moral support in the first place.)

Applebuck Season shows Applejack at her worst, and Feeling Pinkie Keen shows Twilight at her worst.

Dragonshy manages to show Fluttershy at both her best and worst. Quite fun.

Heheh, I never thought I would like Rarity very much, but she one me over quite quickly.

She also might one day become a cat lady, and I like cats...

ninja: Yeah. What the above poster said. I hate all of her traits, fashion diva, clean freak, bit of a snob, obsession with beauty, all that stuff.

But, MLP plays these traits positively, and in an endearing way, and it is because of that initial hatred of her traits that my love for her intensifies. The fact that she is the 'artsy' one does help too. So I guess I might see a bit of myself in her as well.

Talk about your Tomato in the Mirror, eh?

@Ninja: Yeh. That uhm, whassit called, suited for success? Dressed for success? The one with the fashion show. That one pretty much cemented my like for her, and the one with the dogs made me love her even more, because in the first, we saw that not only was she a fashion diva, but she was damn good at it, and should have her decisions in that field respected, and the second showed...well..exactly what Twilight Sparkle said the lesson was.
