Maybe...

I'm thinking Discord Vs. Kefka. Sure, it might sound like a bit much, but think about it. Discord is supposedly the Embodiment of Chaos, and although he was merely a prankster god in the show, I like to think that there is darker side of him that represents the destructive and bloodthirsty parts of Chaos.

I have not played Final Fantasy. From what I know of Kefka, it might be a good match, though — at least, until Discord summons The Joker to Equestria.

All of that's correct, minus the part with him being beaten by a spiky-haired dude. There are virtually no spiky-haired guys in VI, the closest to one being Gau, if I am not mistaken.

How do I even know this? I have played neither game, ever...

Discord vs. Commander Vimes would be interesting, I think. On paper, Vimes does not have a chance; but as he repeatedly proved, this fact alone does not mean that he's not gonna win.

If we really want to find uncomfortable racist subtext in My Little Pony, what about the very concept of Dragonequus?

The only being of the show who is depicted as some sort of Complete Monster* is Discord, whose appearance combines aspects of ponies, dragons and griffons, and his villainy seem to be based on his desire to spread chaos and disrupt society.

How is that not some sort of metaphor about "crossbreeding", or, to use the terminology or 21th century racists, against "miscegenation"?

I think you might be overthinking it a bit.

But I can agree with the Zecora argument. She shows up periodically, digs up some plants, and then leaves to her home in the Everfree Forest. From that, somepony rumors that she might be an evil sorceress, and everypony in Ponyville believes it.

Who comes up with these ideas, anyway?
