But I doubt pony magineers would make an Kill Sat that would consume friendship. If the world runs out of friendship, how are they going to love and tolerate the bits out of all who oppose?

I suppose because that fanfic is more recent, perhaps.

This said, I am not clear why the fandom, as a whole, seems to have decided that Ditzy has some sort of debilitating speech impediment. She is wall-eyed, sure, but strabismus is a relatively harmless condition...

Well, unless I am mistaken, all that the canon tells us is that she is wall-eyed and perhaps a little clumsy (she made that mistake with the birds during Winter Wrap Up). Her being a single mother (or, really, a mother at all) is pure fanon, is this correct?

Well, people have accepted Ditzy as Derpy's "beta name, " whatever that means.

Anyhow, if we assume Ditzy is Derpy's canon name, she is wall eyed, clumsy (drops a lot of stuff on Twi), and has a bad sense of direction (went west to get birds).

Oh, and she can get anywhere from fashion shows to Discord made hallucinations.

Chaste Toons. Apart from Twilight's and Pinkie's parents, the only pony who's canonically a mom is Granny Smith, IIRC, and we don't know who her child/children is/are.

Cue somebody pointing out a background pony who I overlooked.
