You can always do what I do Chagen. Watch it. Criticize it. Throw a hissy fit when people don't enjoy the criticism.

You're different Lucky. You aren't complaining about the show.

I really do intend to watch this show eventually, and I probably will like it. Until then I'm just posting here because I'm impressed by how fast this thread is getting posts...

I have to say I was dubious, but it is actually quite fun to watch...

You mean Twilight? That's the main character, dude.

Well, I guess that settles tha-

...

...Dove, did you seriously just decide to watch a My Little Pony Show because the main character struck a nice chord with their colors? -_-

still doesn't know why this became as popular as it is.
I think it's because it wasn't expected to be good, kind of like the first iron Man movie. It was a great movie that had no right to be based on the merit that it was a comic book adaptation. This show, is like that. It shattered expectations and now it seems greater than it actually is. Basically if you set a low standard and what you see turns out to be above average, you're going to like it even more. There's a certain pscyhe/mindset for this but I'm unaware of it's true nature.

Oh, I think it's pretty okay, I watched out it of simple curiosity and pure boredom and now i'm intrigued. Guide dang you Tropers. Though I do find Troper trends to be fascinating. When everyone was all hopped up on GK Court avatars I got curious enough to read and liked, when it was Touhou couldn't care less, when it was Homestuck I wanted to be gone of that noise when I tried it, and with this, I can't turn away.

Odd. I found this series very easy to turn away from, due to its episodic nature.

^^I'd say that makes it easier to get into.

Saturn: The art is half the reason I have any interest in watching this show. It's a very nice style I'll admit.

I would have loved to see arcs for this show.

AU: I dunno, there is a difference between episodic yet serial shows, and completely and utterly episodic. You get a lot of shows like power rangers that have an overarching plot but many episodic episodes. Then you get something like Dora the Explorer (not being insulting, only one I can think of at the moment) that has no overarching plot, and just is episodic.

I saw the art for this show and I was blown away.

Is it wrong that I decided to check out this show yesterday purely because of reading Fluttershy's section on the character sheet page?

Good gravy, why is it always the cripplingly shy characters with me?
I took a guess and cut a portion out of my heart.

For some reason Justice League sprang to mind when I thought of an arc-based show that is easy to get into. Even though I haven't watched it in like three years.

I feel you Kyler Thatch.

Also, it's possible that this show is still episodic but does have some kind of serial plot. We haven't seen that much of it yet.

#472 from ಠ_ಠ
@AU: I never saw it. Heh.

I mean, episodic works well for some series, like Phineas and Ferb for instance (although I do so love those call backs). I think MLP would have worked better as mostly episodic with a bit of plot sprinkled liberally.

@Saturn: Very true. For now though, I think the show is probably just trying to establish a foothold.

This show isn't episodic because executives think that girls are all stupid whores who live only to buy merchandise.

If a show was brought to Hub right now with a plotline but aimed at boys, it would be approved. Execs are sexist/misogynist like that.
