I admit I have never seen all of either of the Wonka films but it honestly doesn't seem like something that would translate well to ponies (or at least a story involving the mane six).

@Mio: I don't know, I think it could work rather well. There's a lot of karma in there that would be right at home. And the overall goofiness fits pretty well.

Bronies.memebase.com is MEMES. They don't always take the best stuff they just take the most well known. Besides the guys at memebase seem pretty cool.

As I said I'm not intimately familiar with this as others are. But from what I know, the story is at it's heart, a bunch of bratty, insufferable children get whisked away to fantasyland by a eccentric man so that they can be punished for their character flaws. That just doesn't seem like a very Fi M story to me.

@JT 95% of the jokes are bland and trite, and 30% of those jokes are mindless circle-jerking about how awesome the fandom is and how anyone who doesn't like it isn't 20% cooler, so Pinkie should bake them into cupcakes after they take an arrow to the knee.

@Gex: That just makes it dumb. The real crapshoot of the fandom are the bits where the intolerant militant anti-hater jackass trolls hang out. Yeah, MLB is hardly the most intelligent area of the fandom, but it's not really doing any harm.

Yeah, you'd definitely have to do some tweaking. But really, I could easily see Diamond Tiara acting up in that situation. The main probably would be making the foals dickish enough to justify the retaliation.
