Gene's version just seemed fluent in the role, even if Depp maybe humanized him a bit more. As much as Dahl hated the original movie, it's the one engraved into my nostalgic mind. And apparently a few others:

Yeah, the original version seemed more straightforwardly wonderous and happy; the second one made Wonka kind of creepy.

Been playing Human Revolution. I keep killing people when I want to avoid confrontation, but oh well. Also got an arm upgrade to punch through walls. Haven't used it yet.

Jensen sounds like Clint Eastwood to me, so that's also a plus.

I certainly would like a story that was a Charlie and the Chocolate Parody type of story involving the ponies. Especially if they had one get inflated into a "blueberry, " which is my favorite part of the story for reasons I'm not even quite sure of. Rather than having Pinkie be the one who gets inflated, that should be Rainbow Dash's role for a few reasons:

Pinkie would fit better for Augustus Gloop's part because she'd lose quickly by jumping in the chocolate river and wouldn't even make it to the Inventing Room.
Rainbow Dash's personality is very similar to Violet's, especially in the newer version where there is an emphasis on her being competitive.
Rainbow Dash is already blue so it would be funny if they didn't think that there was anything wrong at first until she starts inflating. Although she could just turn a darker or more purplish blue as well and end up being the same color as Luna.
