Seasons usually start at around the same time regardless of how many episodes the previous season had. Season three being shorter is unlikely to result in an earlier season four.
I can't recall ever liking a movie that was based on a TV show. A FIM movie is nothing more than fan speculation, though.

Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker are both exquisite. Though granted the DC Animated Universe is pretty high-quality. The Powerpuff Girls movie wasn't really anything great.

I just hate people deciding the quality of things before they see it. It's a huge pet peeve of mine, and there is literally no reason for anyone to do it ever.
Season 3 better be the best thing ever if it's only gonna be 13 episodes...

Networks order half-seasons all the time. If the ratings continue to be good (and FIM has to be the most-watched show on The Hub), they order a full season. This show is in no danger of being cancelled anytime soon.
