It means that human sexuality, and therefore presumably pony sexuality, is really fucked up. A person can identify as heterosexual but still feel sexual attraction towards someone of their gender, and a person can identify as homosexual and feel attraction towards people of the opposite gender. The kinsley scale has no less than 5 degrees of bisexuality, and that doesn't even cover what happens when you bring in more than two genders.

Basically? You can say Rarity is perfectly straight, sure, but you can ultimately make the argument that she has some feelings for mares, or somepony that falls between stallion and mare because it's all but impossible to prove it could never happen.

Thus you can never confirm sexuality, only approximate it.

Thinking about the possible Octavia/Rarity duet some more, I'm fairly certain this means that Rarity will sing while Tavi provides the music.

@Syd Possibly, but the context of the question that led to the hint of it was about speaking roles, which makes me lean more toward the singing. Though, nothing's stopping Octavia from singing and playing at the same time.

At the very least we can probably assume that Octavia has a speaking role, considering that Cathy Weseluck had a voice for her prepared. Unless she just made it up on the spot, which would be quite the display of skill.
