I own a katana and know a bit about how to use it. Enough to wish that I'd looked for a one-handed weapon instead, anyway.

I've fired an M249 (I think that's the number) SAW (neat, but 40 rounds in, there was so much smoke I couldn't see at all), an M16 (I seem to lack the stature to ever use this effectively), an MP 5 (a bit better here... at least the recoil doesn't completely throw me off) and a couple varieties of 9mm pistols (as awful as they're supposed to be in a real firefight, my preference lies here).

EDIT: Oh and a scoped rifle... I think it was a .22 cal? Not entirely sure, though. It was probably the funnest of the lot (which makes me facepalm for forgetting it).

I find shotguns weird. The first time I used a shotgun, it was one that had both a front and rear sight, and right off the bat I was able to hit skeets with almost one hundred percent accuracy. But every other one I've used had only one sight, and I can't hit shit with them.

I mean good grief I even went to Wal-Mart, They are supposed to have EVERYTHING. But no, Not a single damn pony to be found. In fact, the only bit of hasbro merchandise I found PERIOD was a Transformers Lunch Box (The movie version). (And a bunch of boardgames but those are a different side of the company)

Blue: Actually, no, just your run-of-the-mill civie here. I just wanted to try firing a gun and managed to pick a gun range that had a pretty diverse collection of weapons they were willing to rent.

The pony aisle in most stores is criminally lacking. I don't think I've yet to see one that has more than a handful of toys.

Oh, ok. I just recognized all of the ones you mentioned as being used by the U.S. military. Although I don't actually know if you're American.

The stores near me don't have any. Not that I'd have bought them anyway.

The vast majority of gun use in America outside of law enforcement is for hunting. Britain doesn't really have much to hunt, as far as I know, so there's not much to legally use guns for even if they were legal to keep.

And most of them also hunt with said guns that they think are awesome. I live in the middle of nowhere, so I know.

Blue: Nah, I'm Canadian. But the range I visited was in the US. And I can see where you're coming from: the range was actually toting the military's usage of those weapons as part of their advertising.

That's why never see hunters from UK guest hunting in Poland.

To be fair to the show, they don't have the time to get detailed with the mouth movements. I bet that snippet there took days by itself to do.

And if I were to get a gun, it wouldn't be because I think it's awesome, but for self-defense. Although we're not really allowed to do that up here (collectors and hunters are the only non-law enforcement that can get the permits IIRC), so it'd only be something I really consider if I end up moving down to the US for some reason.
