Yeah, they are. I met him last Friday after having doubts, but he's sweet and not terribly destructive, so I decided to go ahead and take him. He's 4 years old, neutered, and litter trained, so thankfully, I don't have to worry about that. I had a cat up until 2004, when she died of liver failure, but the prospect of having to take care of another being for another 14 years is a little daunting.

Journalism is just a gun. It's only got one bullet in it, but if you aim right, that's all you need.
Lurker: Hehe, I think I'm one of the few traditional holdouts left (at least among the more regular submitters). I did consider digital like what I did with the Thanksgiving pic, but I'm kind of bad at it and with the amount of time that's passed in between, the disparity in quality would be even more readily apparent (plus unlike with the Thanksgiving one where Dusky had a table for me to draw around to take shortcuts, she was out in the open here).
Blue: Don't forget cuddles. At least all the cats I've known can be pretty aggressive about getting their cuddles when they're in a lovey mood.
Personally I totally understand the mass appeal of digital art. You can produce digital quality artwork through traditional means, but you have to be really good. Like, many, many years of practice good. Digital art, once you've gotten past the "I have no idea what I'm doing" stage, provides a pretty significant increase in quality as long as you use it's tools appropriately.Unless you're trying to become an actual master artist, digital is probably the way to go.
Teeth: You make it sound so morbid when you call it that.
I don't think there's really a way to avert the digital near monopoly since it has so many advantages, especially for those just learning. Everyone I know who works digital calls ctrl-Z a godsend and aside from that it's really easy to make extra files to experiment with. Screw up a fill on digital and it's a matter of seconds to correct. Screw up colouring on traditional and it may be done for good. Not to mention the digital aesthetic just naturally looks much smoother (which isn't to say it isn't hard to make an epic piece, because man, all those extra after effects...).
EDIT: Partially ninjaed.

The question is, does Berryshine love berries more than any pony does, or does she love berries more than any pony?
Cool, that was fast. EDIT: Ah, I see.
Oh, I fully understand why it's popular, I just wish there were a few more artists who would be willing to put the time in. Sometimes I feel like analogue art has a bit more character due to the lack of a computer smoothing everything out. Don't get me wrong, there's lots of good digital art, it's just that smoothness doesn't automatically make make a piece of art better.

Broadcasting is just something you choose to allow while uploading. Whether or not I get aired is just up to the Auto DJ's PRNG

Thinking of updating my liveblog today. Unsure whether I want to do Fallout Equestria or The Ballad of Twilight Sparkle. The former I have a bit of a dissertation to write up aside from the actual chapter update, but the chapters are getting longer, while the latter is a lot more manageable for me with shorter chapters.
Digital art is easier to make it look like you know what you're doing when you really don't. Why learn how shading works when you can just use the smudge tool?
