@ Lurker: Let's count, after he's said two sentences to her (one of which was hello) she's groaning at him. Then she says that she waited all her life for this guy she's never met before to fall in love with her and follows him saying that surely he'll start acting with the personality she's assigned to him soon. Then she takes him to the one place at the castle that sells food as opposed to being complimentary and expects him to pay after being the one who ordered the food.

Closest I can think of is Cranky, but he's an ass donkey. Then again, that wouldn't be running into any Interspecies Romance conundrums like when I was trying to cast for a Mr. Darcy.

@Bad Which is entirely the romanticism I mentioned earlier. She was expecting Prince Charming and a perfect gentleman. I'm not saying she should have expected all of those things. I just wanted to make the point that Blueblood couldn't have gone into that intending to knock her down a peg like a lot of people have theorized. He did that entirely through the force of his own personality.

Exactly, she was wrong. How hard is it for this to be grasped?

Considering Blueblood hasn't done anything inherently wrong until after Rarity is groaning at him for not acting as she expected. I'd disagree.

Having ambition does not equate to having a superiority complex. Having opinions or thoughts you feel are worth sharing also does not.

Case in point: I want to work my way up to being a creative manager, the game design equivalent of Fancy's position. Is it because I feel I'm a better designer than others, or better suited for the job? Not necessarily. It's because I have stories I want to tell, things I want to see made into games.

People can often do great things with influence. Fancy may have climbed the ladder with noble goals, and held onto those. Rarity seems to as well, in her own way - she desires notability for the chance to make the world beautiful, which to her is an inherently noble task. You may or may not agree, but one cannot deny that in her mind she has the best of intentions.

@Bad Everyone agrees with that point! You're arguing against an opponent who doesn't exist. You don't have to try and paint Blueblood as a better person than he is to make Rarity look bad. She, same as everyone else, had the wrong idea of what to expect, and clung to it when things didn't turn out as she had hoped.

Everyone in their mind has the best intentions, if we thought what we wanted was bad we wouldn't follow through, But if we're not getting the 100% how do we know? I'm sure she had best intentions when she conned Spike's ruby, or rained on Rainbow Dash's parade, or... I'm drawing a blank all of a sudden... But I had a point somewhere.

Not necessarily.

Rarity felt what she was doing would benefit everyone. One could easily make the climb with only benefits for themselves in mind - thus, they do not have the best of intentions.

Mare Do well always brings intense discussion.
