I imagine there are a lot of things the princess can do to help her subjects that she doesn't do, because she doesn't want them to be completely reliant on her. She probably only steps in with the magic when something serious is going on.

I'm 99.9% certain that it will be Ditzy Doo, and she will be the blonded maned, walled eyed pegasus pony we all know and love.

Remember, Butters of all characters used to just be a non speaking background character in South Park for the first couple of years before becoming a fiveth ranger. And in one episode before his debute, I think somebody called him something like Kevin.

Somebody mentioned background events? I think that's what they'll do with Ditzy. A small joke that lasts a few seconds every couple of episodes. And her dialogue will be kept to short sentences at best.

Although who knows, maybe she'll get a focus episode, paired up with one of the main cast. Maybe Dizty could eventually be the 'Butters' of this show. Here's hoping!

No. because they seem to be going the "Stupid Ditzy" road with her. I don't even want to hear her speak if she's going to be like that.

Unlike Luna, I think Ditzy is best kept in the background, doing stuff

The thing with the RPG is that if you're doing everything strictly from a character standpoint, you really don't stats for anything; everybody just creates a character and goes at it. I suppose you could try to quantify "friendship levels" or whatever, but that just seem as interesting.

Maybe, but I really don't like imagining her with any kind of mental defects or below average intelligence. Not even being a Genius Ditz

It just rubs me the wrong way. Like we're using her eye to judge her very mentality. The muffin thing didn't help either

I agree though, I like to think of Derpy as slightly clumsy, but otherwise completely normal.

As to her voice, I keep imagining Strong digging up her Bubbles voice again for Ditzy. You know, because he's blonde, has bubbles for a CM, and must be freakin' adorable?

It's just the way people attribute the muffin line to her. It's not a very intelligent or nuanced thing to say is it?

It's mostly how the fans make Derpy obsessed with muffins

Derpy with Bubbles' voice would make me feel so warm inside It's a bit too young sounding for her though, don't you think?

It's the only thing she's said in the series, other than the angry gasp in "Green Isn't Your Color." People will grab onto any bit of canon they can for popular background characters.

Hopefully now that she's being slightly more active we'll have more to craft fanon around. Although that storyboard of her pulling out the drain makes me think they are going to make her a bit of a ditz.

A little nod to the muffian bit would be funny to me. I have full confidence that whatever the writers do will work. They are pretty good at this.

The ponies of Equestria seem to have meaningful names alot, so a clumsy Ditzy would be most appropreiate. Clumsy dosn't mean stupid you know. I consider myself to be quite intelligent, and I'm VERY clumsy. Just ask the 4'' scar on my left hand!

True, it is young sounding, but if they age it up by about oh, say, 20%, then we have an adorablly bubbly ditzy doo!

For me Derpy is well named Derpy Hooves, she don't have any children, beacause she is in Mane Cast age, she is normal inteligent pony or just little wierd or clumsy. And she is Doctor Whoof companion.

Only canon from future episodes can change that.

I kinda hope so. What's her personality like? Or was?

Edit: Say goodbye to the name (just being realistic), but the rest seems right. Dinky will proably be her little sister if included. As for the Doc, well, who knows?

Copyright-wise, they probably can't canonize the Doctor in-show...

And I don't think that canon Derpy/Ditzy will be stupid or mentally handicapped, per sé. Mor like I think that she'll be a tad, well ditzy, but not amazingly so, and cause a few slapsticky accidents that shouldn't really happen (like the crate/anvil/piano drop, or the plug in an iron bucket). So, a few gags along the lines of Pinky's gags, but more in the way of a Murphy's Law kind of thing.

I got it.

She has the same warping powers as Pinkie Pie, but no control over them, meaning that they spring up on her unexpectedly and usually backfire in her face. Like antagionists in a Loony Toons show.

Which is why she was surprised when she somehow managed to personally drop an anvil and piano and such.

Or how she manages to find a plug in a bucket that probably didn't come with one.

I am stupid AND clumsy! But yeah, she could always be a genius ditz.

Maybe they could write off the clumsiness as her being tired all the time. Mailmares have to get up awfully early after all.
