Weirdly enough, I enjoy writing it, but I rarely read it. I like the challenge of taking established characters and seeing what I can do with them. And also because every time I start working on an original work I get sidetracked by the world building and character creation, so using an established setting lets me focus more on plot. (not that plot)

But yeah, Sturgeon's Law definitely applies here; most fanfic is crappy wish fulfillment garbage that doesn't have much respect for the source material. I just try to not be part of that section.

I don't think it's the equine term, it's just the term people came up with, but I'm pretty sure the actual term is something else.

@Jewelled, your views match mine and basically part of why I was ashamed of my ficcing days as a wee lad, knowing it's far more fulfilling and sensical to make my own stuff.

I dislike "Watched for Plot" meme but also I like using plot instead ass, because it funny that way.

And if thing about it ass it's really bad world to use in MLPFIM world. It's racist against donkeys (if they are sentient race).

I just watched the first 2 minutes of Winter Wrap Up and I noticed something:

Twilight wakes up ridiculously early for WWUD. She acknowledges that it's too early, but after the credits she appears to be late for the ACTUAL ceremony. How? She must have been ready to go for hours. (she wasn't even assigned a vest)
