I'm just glad to have further confirmation that the real Luna isn't evil at all. We only got one line from her so far, but it portrayed a few things pretty nicely, so I'm glad they're keeping her in line with what we already know.

I was skeptical the first few times, but "TV listings guy" hasn't let us down yet I suppose, so I'll trust it... for now.

So is this going to be like World of Warcraft where all the holidays are exactly the same as American holidays, but with different names? Well, there's the Summer Festival, but that's based on a real-world holiday too if I recall... but that's not the point.

Also, Luna decides to come to Ponyville on "Nightmare Night"... dressed as a Sith Lord

Choosing Halloween as the night to do it might not actually be that bad an idea. If the idea of Nightmare Night is to be scary on purpose, it means she can pretend as if she's playing along and use the end of it to try to show everyone that 'look, I'm just like all of you!' and stuff.

Or she may not have any clue what she's doing.

Well, she wants to soften her image, but it'd be rude to not get into the spirit of the holiday, am I right?

And yeah, it seems to be going the "Wintersday" route, with the holidays having in-universe names.

More than ever, I find myself wondering if there is (or is now) a counterpart to the Summer Sun Celebration, set on the Winter solstice?

edit: Oh my goodness, I just realized. Can you imagine how Fluttershy is going to be acting on that day? The most scareable pony, on a day full of "macabre celebrations"?

I wonder if this means the episode will be mostly from Luna's point of view, or if she will be enlisting the aid of one of the mane six in her shenanigans. It would be nice for Luna to be the focal point of her first episode.

I'd be 0kay with her being the focal point character. They could go the Bridle Gossip route of focusing on characters who don't know for sure what her real intentions are, but it'd be very much non-suspenseful, because we already know pretty well that she's legit.

Well, we know one thing about her: She seems to have the same mental process and social skills as Twilight if she honestly thinks THIS little excursion is gonna end well.

I can see her explaining the plan to Celestia, and her sister going: "Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Option A) She knows it's all an act, allowing her to actually try to play along with a complete lack of success.

Option B) Luna will accidentally scare Fluttershy silly before the episode is over, and Fluttershy forgiving Luna for it will be an important turning point in the episode.

Option C) She'll lock herself in her house and hide under her bed till the nights over.

Actually, that would be amazing if the entire episode had Celestia showing up in the background in crappy costumes watching everything go down.

Nobody will be able to scare Pinkie, no matter how elaborate the attempted scare. And at the end, Fluttershy will manage to (accidentally) startle her

What IS Luna's plan exactly? Does she think that she can diffuse the tension between her and the ponies by proving that she's capable of having a good laugh?

Easier ways to do that than scaring them y'know

I'm apprehensive considering that this could be the first episode where Luna presents a fully-developed personality, and fans will be upset that it's not what they expected.

If Pinkie can't be scared, does that mean she hates Nightmare Night?

I swear, if Pinkie does dress up as something legitimately scary, I will... I will... I don't know what I will do, but I will do something.

What about Rarity? Would she have time to make a costume, or will she be to busy to make one for herself (seeing as costume making is half of the holiday).

Mayhap she gets swamped with orders around this time of year.

And there's no way Pinkie would hate the holiday. She just spends her time laughing instead of getting frightened. It's a different sort of way to enjoy the holiday.
