I already came up with some tropes for this. I think the real question is whether this is actually something that deserves a page.

So, if they go the route of a movie, what style should they do it in? A fantasy quest based movie? A road trip movie? A horror movie? A The Smurfs-like live action movie set in the real world?

I'd love it if Celestia chose the Mane 6 to act as her ambassadors to another country (especially if it was Griffin country). She did pick them to deal with a dragon that was threatening the whole country (which kind of seems like something she ought to handle herself) so she has a lot of faith in them.

Well, one pony has already left Equestria. She spent a thousand years on the moon.

Okay, recommend me a fanfic. It can't be Crisis Equestria, Fallout Equestria, or Cupcakes, and if its one of your fanfics, keep in mind how prone to critical analysis I am.

Backtracking, I liked Sisterhooves Social, not exceptional, but it has nice interaction, AJ's Cool Big Sis treatment to AB was a nice balance to how they were in Bridle Gossip, and as usual Rarity makes a good mix of hammy egotist and Jerk with a Heart of Gold.

Only complaint may have been that Sweetie Belle was maybe too much of a brat, there's a difference between having a sulk and basically telling your sibling they're dead to you. I kinda hate when the aesop sides completely with the character that was 'just trying to help', as I think it's a bad aesop to have 'if someone is causing you havoc but means well, sit back and take it rather than teach them better'. Add to that SB being less obnoxious than the other CMC was the nearest she had to Divergent Character Evolution.

@ginger: Shhhh, don't give them ideas. That's all the rage now.

I actually that episode did a fairly good job of looking at both sides. I mean, I could easily sympathize with Rarity. The only reason that she ended up apologizing first is because she's supposed to be the older and more mature one.

Ok, this next post is spoilered to avoid potential Single Issue Wonk

I was thinking that if my "multiple countries besides Equestria" theory included Fluffy Ponies, then they would be kind of like Fair Folk or Mr. Saturns, living in secluded areas from society that can only be seen by those with good intentions.

@Blue I still consider it one of those "unless it's mentioned" things. They didn't say that they WEREN'T in Eqestria anymore, nor did they say they were, so it all comes down to what you consider the more logical default. I think it's easier to assume that they were still in Equestria

@Moe: Given that my intent with it is to keep it as in-character as possible, I think it would be incredibly useful to know if I'm mishandling it. Here's the first chapter.

@Apple: Classical references makes everything better. Also, I really want to write a ponified Inferno, with various one-shot antagonists in the levels, and a giant Discord stuck in the ice at the middle.

Yes, they were still in Ponyville, but unless Applejack didn't know they'd be leaving the borders...

Also, Equestria is a COUNTRY. I think it should be pretty big. How long does it take to walk to any sizable distance in Westeros? Days? I like to think that Spike wasn't walking for more than a few days given how many supplies he had
