Yeah, currently I'm weighing the options in my crap. Romance would be cute perhaps, but it also brings a lot of obligations with it that I wonder if they won't end up tangling up the story.

Especially when at times my subconscious says "do a pony/oc ship" to which I say NO when you consider who the "OC" would have to be.

@Freeman Pinkie spends the entire beginning of chapter 26 serenading RD with "The Rainbow Connection" and RD is clearly the one Pinkie cares most about.

Suddenly, romance!

Now, after the start, it's pretty good. It's just the beginning that was rather forced.

@Steve because they're friends Not just any friends, the most powerful friends whose combined harmony can defeat gods. I'm of the opinion that 2 of them should not have a deeper relationship than they have with the other 4.

They should care about each other exactly equally.

@ Freeman: That's the thing though. It should be a major element of the story. But it's not. It's right in that sweet spot where it's not important enough to be included, and not subtle enough to let it slide by.
