@Pannic I think we like the same kind of things, except that my prudishness/squeamishness is turned up to eleven, meaning that I really can't go for most dark/shipping fics. My tastes are even more narrow than yours in that respect.

Outside of fics I mostly agree with you on what's cool.

Goldenblood is terminally ill. I always wondered why that was. It doesn't seem to mean much from a storyline perspective (besides giving Fluttershy a reason to mother and dote on him all the time), so I figured it was just a way for the author to artificially make him even MORE sympathetic.

Only now, I realize... it was to make him comparable to Blackjack, the main character!

Blackjack, who runs from situation to situation, exposing herself to untold poisons, intense radiation, and all sorts of mutagens that are gradually eating her from the inside out. She fights to do what's right even as her body slowly dies, and she'll jump into any event heedless of her own well being and not care if she dies in the process.

@Freeman, no. I knew he was dying, I just didn't realize why the author ADDED that he was dying. Him being terminally ill always struck me as being rather pointless.

@Pannic: Names affect shipping? Flower Wishes/Daisy already had two, so Goldengrape getting one doesn't seem like it'd keep them from being shipped with each other.

I just don't show that side much because at the moment I'm trying to find the enjoyment in what I watch, not analysis. I just hate it when I miss something so blatantly obvious like that. XD
