Ooh, it's raining outside. And it's the nice, warm kind of rain too. I might go outside for once.

My problem with armor is... It's impossible to draw. I can't draw robots, iron man, my own versions of iron man, there's just no way to make something that looks like practical body armor a person can reasonably move in. I try so hard to make the joints look moveable!

I mean if it doesn't look like it can move then what's the point.

I agree about helmet thing. It's always annoying to see armies with some full body armor with heroes/commanders/officers not wear helmets (I'm looking at you WH40K). It's not only not cool but also stupid.

I always loved when character or mooks covers their faces.

When I redesign superheroes, I pretty much give 80% some sort of padding or helmet.

To be fair to the heroes not wearing helmets, it'd be a huge morale boost for the army to see their hero fighting with them.

That's why I like the way this show does armor designs, whenever we do see armor. The have the essentials, covering their hooves, chests, and heads, but the opt more for mobility than protection, never restricting their legs or wings at all. It makes sense, considering that most things dangerous to be a threat to a trained guard in that world are probably strong enough to bypass/rend most armor outright anyway, so they focus on protecting their vitals.

To which they should have custom armour, really.

I mean, it's not even that much to ask. Just a unique design for an officer, or for someone famous. In fact in the TCYB universe I've written the royal family as having a unique set of armour pretty much solely for that reason.

@Kegi Shining Armor had some nice custom, well, armor. We really haven't seen any ranking officers of the guard otherwise.

@kegi I'll admit, that was pretty cute. And she's Rarity's sister, so she's a lot closer to him agewise while still being similar to Rarity.

[up][up]Oh wow, I actually thought that was charming.

[up]And it means you can ship Rarity with Fancypants guilt-free!

@Pannic I heard a theory one time that Fancy Pants hates the social hierarchy, and he wants to overthrow it and introduce a more equal society. That's why he was so accepting of ponies from Ponyville.

Also, he's pretty cool.

@Lurker: Feh, everypony knows that Fleur is just a beard - Fancy Pants is really in love with Rapidfire, but you simply can't have a common coltcuddler in high-society!
