Part of me really wants them to go in a completely ridiculous mundane direction with Luna. It turns out she's spent the last year when in the castle laying around and eating when she's not bringing the night. Like she's this complete slacker raiding Celestia's fridge during the day and not really keen on actually doing much of anything other than relaxing.

[As Discord is running amok with all his powers]

Celestia: Discord's chaos is ruining Equestria!

Luna: Yeah, yeah. Well, got no Elements of Harmony so... not really much I can do.

[Celestia rolls her eyes]

Luna: Don't worry about this big sis, I'm sure Nightlight or whatever and her friends have this all taken care of. Think I'll go take a bit of a nap. If you have some awards ceremony or something, I think I'm gonna sleep through, so just a heads up.

That's just me though.

I guess one reason we don't see her a lot is that she's probably nocturnal just by way of her job description.

I wonder if there's a Winter Moon Celebration.

Actually, lately I've started to think of it this way: She's been on her own for a thousand years, right? So the thought of actually being around other ponies probably freakin' terrifies her. Seriously, she'd have completely forgotten how to interact with them, they're probably completely alien to her. That's why Celestia keep Twilight writing those friendship reports, Luna reads them so she'll be able to deal with ponies again.

Maybe it's because I binged on Progress that one time, but social alien Luna does make sense to me.

And Celestia probably thought it was a good excuse to spare her from going to the Gala. Lucky Luna.

You know, Fridge Logic: why didn't RD use Sonic Rainbooms as a basic attack against huge opponents, such as that dragon? I mean, kicking it in the face wouldn't have hurt it in the least, but rainbooming him might have worked wonders (I'm thinking of the ending of Guards! Guards!).

Can Dragons and Ponies breed?

She can't seem to do it on demand at the very least

It's imposible to use Sonic Rainboom as weapon, at least in that kind of situation.

Even if she could pull it off in short notice, I'm not sure how easy it is to weaponize a sonic boom. I guess it's like a small explosion, sans fire, so it she did it really close to something it could break a few bones and rupture some organs? She's have to have good aim though; I'm not sure how far the blastwave would extend.

Don't we have a trope relating to charging attacks? about how the one doing the charging is never usually harmed by the attack, even if they're moving at ridiculous speeds?

No, I didn't mean ramming him, I mean blowing its freaking eardrums off with the sonic explosion. Not to mention other stuff: a sonic boom is already very destructive, but a sonic rainboom occurs at Mach 5!

I wonder how much damage the second rainboom caused? Cuz it seemed relatively tame compared to the almost apocolyptic scale of the first one.

My personal theory is that Celestia subdued it somehow, or otherwise weakened it with her magic as soon as it appeared, to stop it from destroying anything.

Even if RD can (after Sonic Rainboom episode) do SRB when she whant it's propably to difficult to make it in exact moment.

Also she need great distance to speed up, and it take some time.

And other thing, if it dangerous to big monster it propably danger to Mane Cast to.

Also, PSG soundtracks don't really make sense to work with FiM, but I guess they're somewhat connected through their common PPG DNA.
