Actually I think I'm going to side with Ginger on this one. Despite them having ample warning about what was going to happen Rainbow really shows absolutely zero concern for their well being once it gets started. Not exactly the most endearing trait for a new pet owner.

@Kyler Whichever one lives...then...mellow them out by trial through fire.

@Librarian: But I already had Oogie!

@Mio: I agree that she was a jerk in that way; I just don't think that the decision to have them go through the gorge in the first place was a bad one. The execution was jerkish, but the idea itself was logical.

Look, I think you can read 'em free on Go Comics or find 'em at the library.

Just, give it a chance, man. Please?

Meh, I put in on the same league as a lot of RD moments, she WAS being a jerk, but a loveable unmalicious jerk.

It's the same as she was for Applebloom in Call of the Cutie, she doesn't get everyone else doesn't have the same talent and preferences she does. She just assumes everyone wants to do badass stuff like she does.

TRACER BULLET

It's a shame he was only ever in what, like two comics? Those were the best.

Remember that Fluttershy was behind encouraging pets to participate. There is no way that they could have been pressured into doing it by anything other than their desire to be adopted. In fact, Fluttershy kept Tank around in the competition because Tank really wanted to be there. All of them did.

Welp, I'm gonna go read my Calvin books.

If you change your mind, ginger, I'd be happy to talk to you about 'em some time.

@story: He had two story arcs, I think. They were sweet.

Another question: What if Dash was instead looking for a training partner, and the contestants were other pegasi? Would you think any differently of the race through the gorge? And if so, what's the difference?

Well, Tracer had two full story arcs, but he made his debut in the arc where Hobbes gave Calvin a haircut. Unfortunately he only appeared for one strip there.

The whole point of the ep was that that's not what a pet is for, and that the way she was going about doing it was bad.

You know what, forget it. I can never win arguments. I'm not smart enough.

@con WHY WOULD I LIKE IT!!

(oh, my stomach. Stress induced stomach ache... it hurts sad)

I'm also not really a fan of Rock or bands, so I was under the impression a lot of the humor would be lost on me. Although again, I've never seen it. I'm only going on general descriptions and such.

I'm not a fan of music either but I still liked it. Most of the fun comes from seeing how the band members act in an insane, but still completely serious manner. The fact that they're a band whos 'appeal has grown more selective' is just the setting.

@Ginger I agree that that was the lesson. And the lesson was learned. Again, I see no problem here.

Right. She was going about it wrong. She was looking for the wrong qualities (like being a daredevil who would fly through that gorge) and overlooking others. And she chose something a bit too difficult for the last thing. Not that that actually stopped any of the participants who chose to do the gorge race.

Well, whoever wanted the argument got it. tongue

@Ginger: Right; she was looking for the wrong thing in a pet. I totally agree with you there. She was looking for the wrong thing. However, even if her goal was wrong, the steps she took to get to that goal are logical. Yes, she has a wrong idea of what a pet is, but given the idea that she does have, the whole gorge thing makes sense.

Also, I updated my tumblr, and the first chapter of my Applejack/Twilight story is posted on Fimfiction for those who are interested.

Catching up. 5 or so pages ago, people were talking negatively about 127 Hours. I just wanted to say 127 Hours is one of the best movies I've seen in my life. I even read the guys book afterwards, and it inspired me to work out all summer.

I'd argue that people usually say argument when they really should say argue, or bicker.
