I honestly do not know. Maybe fur has an advantage over feathers in terms of body covering, but feathers on wings provide better flight?

But actually, I don't care. So anyway, Pegasi have fur and feathers, how weird is that!? Don't penguins have that too, or are they all feathers?

Well, from what I find feathers provide a very important factor in flight, though the sources neglect ot mention precisely what that is.

All other things considered I doubt it would make a difference even if your wings had fur instead of feathers, since your flight is obviously magical anyways. Given the magical nature of ponykind, it wouldn't surprise me if you just developed feathers because you thought you were supposed to.

Yeah, I saw that when I looked in the CE thread.

Speaking of fanfics, I'm thinking of starting The Age of Wings and Steel. Of course I'm already reading This Platinum Crown but I'm gonna pause that and start reading Wings and Steel then go back to reading TPC if I don't like it or after I get caught up. I admit that first I was turned off because the protagonist was an alicorn, but now I'm interested.
