The only non-villain character who existed purely to be cool that I liked was Jack Rakan
and even HIM I'm falling out of love with.
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
Well, for Twilight, its got to be either her old Smarty Pants doll, or perhaps her first book on magic, or something like that. For Rainbow Dash, I'm sure it's either a Daring Doo book, or some specially rare piece of Wonderbolts memorabilia.
edit: I'm not sure how to define a character as "purely to be cool"
unless they're as over the top as Jack. I mean, every character has their own place in the plot.

I have a message from another time...
@Bad Buffalo Bill loves his coat of Mare skin
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
@con I dislike it when applied to main characters.
As I've said millions of times, I dislike the heroes being show-offy awesome or cool. Even though I know it's necessary a lot of the time

Afternoon everypony.
Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.
But Ginger if it's only everyone else doing cool stuff, then why aren't those guys the heroes?
I have a message from another time...
@con I mean the WRITERS being show-offy about it. By putting her in situations which constantly showcase it
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel
@Enlong because I think that heroes are made awesome by their personality and morality... not by their abilities?

@con Then I'm okay with it.
Really, I'm just pissed that more villains don't have entries on the CMOA pages -_-

Why can't we have both, huh? I see nothing inherently wrong about the heroes being cool that would detract from them if they already have good characters and personalities. There's a
distinct problem with a work where only the villains are allowed to be powerful and accomplish things. One needs to strike a balance, and I'm optimistic enough to think that writers can
do that.
