@enlong I just said that I'm okay with it then. It's when the writers go out of their way to show off the heroes being awesome.

@con Crowning Moment of Awesome

I'm a firm believer in the belief that a villain should at least be AS awesome as the hero their facing

@ Enlong/Swas: Thanks.

Daw I just noticed the Ursa Minor. And I love that crab/scorpion thing.

I think I can see what Ginger's going on about. Sometimes a situation can be jerry-rigged just so a character will have a chance to show off. Lots of fanfics fall victim to this, and a lot of my least favorite cartoons as well. It's one reason I despised the 2002 remake of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Personally, I prefer the heroes to have practical solutions to problems. If its practical and also awesome, then that's cool.

Gensoumaden Saiyuki almost got my goat about this... at first I thought "Oh, this is gonna be a show about wannabes posing and posturing around." But by the end of the second disc they had more than justified all that posing and posturing, backed it up with legit accomplishments. So that gets a pass.

Pisses me off about New Doctor Who though... very often all he has to do is brag about how great he is, and wham, the situation is automatically solved.

I love a scene that's so cool that it makes me jump up and cheer. It's better than crack.

@con I have NEVER cheered for a hero.

NEVER.

I want them to win, but I feel no rush from anything they do. (at least not unless it's an emotional scene rather than a physical one)

@Moe: Of course, then there was The Pandorica Opens where that sort of posturing ruined everything, or at least, didn't do a damn thing to turn around the situation he was in.

Alright! I've installed Planescape: Torment and I'm starting the game!

The only time I'm aware the dramatic speech did solve a problem in Doctor Who was in that Library two-parter where he scared the shadow-bugs away.

@ginger: Well, I hope that'll change someday. I love to watch characters I've grown attached to succeed and defeat some evil.

C'mon, don't you cheer every time she says "Get away from her, you bitch!" Isn't that so cool?

bleh, more korra talk. pony time. Ponyville Confidential.

wow, a million and 1 uses for newspapers!

oh jeez, DT again. did daddy buy her the position?

nice intrepid reporter outfit. ...damnit rarity!

of course, DT wants tabloid stuff.

interesting, hitting the horn disrupts magic use. guess she failed her concentration check. oh darnit rarity, don't encourage them!

once again, I really like those 2 spa ponies. They easily have the most aesthetically pleasing design of any pony on the show.

wait, big mac still has twis doll?

and article on rarity in 3...2...1...

oh man, featherwight really gets around.

gah, AJ and big mac switched places!

ok, DT didn't look at it first, that means its gossip about DT.

oh darnit, it's just an apology instead. well, I guess revenge like that woulda been a bit outa place for this show.

ok, this was a step up from the last couple of episodes.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!

Alright, now for character generation. The standard DND stuff, I remember this from Knights of the Old Republic...

Or, hey ginger, when you watch Rocky running up the stairs while they blasting Gonna Fly Now? Don't you stand up and punch the air every time that freeze frame hits? Doesn't it make you happy?

Don't think you've asked, but going by coat colour, the pink one is Aloe and the blue one is Lotus.

Ponyville Confidential was a really good CMC episode in my opinion. It had Diamond Tiara, which is a bonus. Mars isn't a fan of it, though.

[up]I've never been able to get through that movie. Too boring.

@ Condo: Personally I've never done that. Of course I've never seen Aliens. But even if I did I doubt I'd do that, I don't jump up and cheer. Not my style, it's obnoxious.

Though "I've never cheered for the hero" isn't an entirely accurate statement
