from Aboard The Damocles
@Blue It gets complex though.
For example, I am on round 3 of Liar Game. the game:
2 teams of 9 players are placed in two seperate rooms called "countries" (the Northern country and the Southern Country) both countries have an ATM machine containing ¥2.7 billion yen belonging to the OTHER country. (300 million yen per team member) All players have a card, each of which they can use to take out the money in their accounts. (only 100 million can be withdrawn and used officially in any given round though) The game has 50 rounds.
A member from each team is elected one at a time and sent across to the other country's ATM with a briefcase that can contain up to exactly 100 million yen in order to extract an amount of money (or nothing if they want). They then must take the briefcase through customs, where an inspector (an elected member of the rival team) is waiting for them. The inspector is then given 10 minutes to make a call of either "Pass" or "Doubt". "Pass" means he thinks there's no money in the briefcase. "Doubt" means he thinks there is. If the inspector calls Doubt he must then give an estimation on how much he thinks is in the briefcase. If the inspector calls pass and there's money in the case, or if the amount he doubted is less than what was actually in there, then the smuggle is successful and the smuggler takes all the money in the briefcase. (which is then added to a seperate bank account away from the ATMS in either country. This "Third country" account has 100 million yen in it, and all the players in both teams have one of their own, each with 100 mil in it to start with.) Not only that, but if the inspector doubted a sum that was too small (or doubted when there was no money in the briefcase at all) then half of the amount he doubted is then taken from his "third country" account and given to the smuggler as compensation. If the inspector Doubts correctly, then the smuggling is foiled, and the amount in the briefcase is added to the inspector's "third contry" account.
When the South and North have both attempted to smuggle, that constitutes a round. At the end of 50 of those, the game is over. The officials then tally up the amount of money in all the "third country" accounts, and the team with the most collective money in those accounts wins. The money (if any) that's left unsmuggled from the North and South ATMS are then divvied out equally amongst the members of the other team (for example, if 900 million of the northerners' money was left unsmuggled from the ATM in the South country, then 100 million would be given to each member of the Southern team)
... see how this could get confusing?
