Well, they gave us Steve Magnet...

And lots of incoherent image macros.

In regards to mast3rlinkX getting his account un-suspended, I read somewhere that the only way to reverse a YouTube DMCA suspension is to get permission from copyright holders. So Hasbro (or whomever they went to) is cool with YouTube uploads.

That's awful nice of them. (Probably helps that this is sort of like free advertising for them, though.)

You know from what I read from this wiki page of this show that it was originally planned to have an overarcing plot.

While that would be cool, I get a bad feeling that somehow things wouldn't be as good if it wasn't as episodic as it is now.

Hasbro is fine with this being on YouTube because it's not their prime money maker with the Pony's IP. Like most kid shows its an extended commercial for the toys and it plays on the Hub, not exactly a million dollars an advert spot of a network.

So in the latest Yu Gi Oh Abridged, there was a moment where there was a theme song-off (or whatever you'd call it), and Serenity got a bit where her's was from MLP. Though since it was only the first two lines, there's no way of telling whether it was suppose to be the old version or from Fi M.

It was the one from Friendship Is Magic. They're different enough that I can tell.

Well, that's hard to say. There's definitely a hint of the overarcing nature in the first two episodes, and personally I think it looked interesting. On the other hand, I always really loved character based humor, and we get a ton of that here...

Honestly, I think there's a chance of us seeing an arcing plot next season, as it's confirmed to have a greater, lasting antagonist. I mean, it could be the same sort of 'arc' as we're having with the grand galloping Gala, but you never know, faust might be pushing at hasbro a bit now that she has experience with the show.

[up] Likewise, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro is willing to give Faust a least a little more freedom to take the show in that kind of direction given how good a job she's done with it thus far. It's possible that now that she's made something that's as ridiculously popular as it is for a show based on a toy line designed for young girls, they can take some measure of confidence that she'll do just as well if she's allowed to take it in directions they might not have been interested in at first.

Grogar needs to show up and get owned. :)

Also, Lauren should really check out some of the fan fics people have written (non-sexual ones, of course) and consider some of them as episodes...

What I meant is, ask the fan fic writers' permission and credit them as the writers.

I don't think she should take any of the fanfics whole hog, but I don't think anyone would really mind if a few fannon things became cannon. I mean, it happened with derpy hooves, so I doubt anyone would really mind too much if, say, scootaloo playing with dash, or we saw more Luna, or Lyra and bonbon appeared together more often in the background. I mean, they can't really intrude to much on the show, I understand that, so that kind of limits how much they can do. Most of the fanfictions are right out, due to heavy doses of Alternate Character Interpretation.

I hope they can bring a male pony into the cast without having him be a Base Breaker. But again, I'd rather them concentrate on making a good series rather than appealing to the periphery fandom.

Grogar needs to show up and get owned. :)

I've been co-writing an alternate timeline that merges G1 and G4. It has Celestia and Luna co-creating Dream Valley...with Grogar being an equivalent-level deity who creates his own "Realm of Darkness".

Then Luna develops an unhealthy interest in the Realm of Darkness, and decides that hey, Grogar's got ''style''.

Actually, I think it might be neat if Big Mac got a day in the limelight. I have to admit, I'm kind of curious about what he's actually like. Surely he can't spend all his days on the farm. At the very least, seeing him a bit more would be nice.

Big Mac seems to be the head of the household, so I guess he's busy most the time.

See, I always thought that Applejack seemed to 'run' things, and Big Mac was pretty much just labor. Applejack did say she was 'destined to run sweet apple acres', after all. Course, for all we know it could be Granny Smith who's in charge, being the eldest of the group. And that's not even noting their immediate parents, who knows what they're up to.

Can't imagine Applejack running the farm on her lonesome, given that her disdain for math is pretty much canon at this point. I think it's be a dynamic duo type of affair.
