She might have been giving them a discount, but I doubt any of them would let her do it for free; the stuff she works with probably isn't cheap, except the jewels.

I watched DEATHBATTLE Starscream vs Rainbow Dash , that's awesome.

But RD fighted with Starscream and beating him is not gi achivment.

Starscream is a BADASS (at least in Animated he was)

I would think that Rarity would offer to make them for free since they're her best friends AND it's for all of their plans to go to the Gala together, but then, I don't remember the "money" line. Maybe she DIDN'T offer to make them for free.

The money line was refering to the increased business the fashion show was going to bring in. Which is why the failure of the fashion show was so devestating to her.

I'm pretty sure the budget line was an oversight (or maybe they didn't want her to spend more money on a dress than they'd be willing to pay? so they gave her a limit. They thought they were being kind, but inadvertantly created yet another thing for her to worry about)

I'm pretty sure it was devastating because she got humiliated in front of half of ponyville. You don't plan on going into exile just because you lost the chance to make some money.

True but the combination of the humilation and the loss of business were probably both contributing factors.

She was humiliated in front of Hoity Toity. The fashionest pony around. As for the budget thing, maybe the song was in Rarity's head and she was being sarcastic.

Actually, why didn't she bring up Hoity Toity during the whole mess with Photo Finish? Surely his blessing would make PP respect her designs a bit more?

Photo Finish must have liked her designs at least a little, since it was Rarity's hat that drew her attention in the first place. She didn't even see Fluttershy until later, and probably decided that the adorable new model was more valuable to her than Rarity's fashions. Although I don't really know why she didn't try and snag them both.

She does seem to gain something of a one-track mind after she sees Fluttershy, and she didn't seem to like the way Rarity's designs gelled with Fluttershy

One had to take priority I suppose

Yeah, but I just think it's weird. Photo Finish must have a bunch of models and designers, I don't see why she gave up on Rarity after one showing. Even if her fashions didn't gel with Fluttershy, she should have other models they would look good on. I don't know, maybe she just decided Rarity wasn't that good.

Also, I'm curious as to why Photo Finish didn't specifically say: "You, the person modelling for Rarity? We're having another shoot in the park tommorow. Rarity you won't be needed"

She just says "Tommorow. A photoshoot in the park... I go!" How was she expecting anyone to know that she was talking specifically to Fluttershy? Photo Finish came there because of Rarity, and it's only natrual to assume that Rarity would show up again unless told otherwise. What if Rarity didn't bring Fluttershy along as a model?

I know why she didn't say it. but it still felt like a stupid move on PF's part
