@Rich: you should probably read them in order, there is a lot of continuity in the books. Keep in mind that the first one isn't nearly as good as the later ones though.

@Rich: Summer Knight focuses heavily on the consequences of the previous book, so it's not really a good one to start with. If you want to just give it a try to see if you like the writing though, by all means.
