Did somepony say Black Lagoon? If your curious it's about a group of four, um, "couriers" who sepcialize in trafficing things like drugs, guns or hostages. They live in a city so violent and crime ridden it makes Mos Eisley look like Ponyville, filled with every crime syndicate from the Tongs to the Russian Mafia. The main charatcers walk along the line of villian protagonists, though for the most part they're nice enough people. Except Revy.

Nah. 'salright. (Fun Fact: There will probably rarely be cause to apologize to me)

It's just I think the story has serious problems. Serious problems that don't mesh well with its establishment as a god-tier story and the single most popular fanfiction in the fandom.

Admittedly I can think of worse stories. But I can also think of better ones.

Well, obviously since it IS so highly regarded its a case of YMMV. But yeah, like i said, if Kkat knew how to write a story EVERYONE would love, she wouldn't be churning out fan-fics, she'd be to busy Scrooge Mcducking her way through a pile of cash the size of Russia.

Just added the first season of Black lagoon to my Netflix DVD queue. I'll see if I like it or not. So far it sounds like something I'd like at least.

Yeah, I really just can't get past all of the Fridge Logic. The justifications are mostly really stretching it, IMO, and there's not really anything I can do to get my self to enjoy it. I almost wish the story could have just been about the main characters without all of the backstory there to ruin my day. That would have been much better.

I don't like Velvet. At all. She's a bit too much of a Stupid Good special snowflake whose abilities, talents, and intents really don't match up. The rest of them are cool, though, so long as they're not on drugs.

I wanted to like Velvet. I really did. But before we can even get to know her she's already started complaining. It's basically "here is your party medic. She is also the annoying token strawman pacifist. This fits because she's the party medic."

Ginger, none of them got to the part where she develops out of the Stupid Good part, as to her "grab-bag" If you assume her special talent is soothing ponies then it makes sense, the medical stuff soothe there body, and the music soothes there souls, it's not like she can learn every spell. She never gets any combat spells except for a very very weak barrier. And as to the Cutie mar, like I said first thing I thought of was Florence Nightingale.

I never really had problem with Velvet (and Stupid Good characters allways pissing me off) she is not Stupid Good in my eyes. I can understand her point of view and actions.
