Well, I'm just hoping for more AJ this season. She was seriously lacking in character development in Season 1

Appleshy. We need more of it

Did they interact at all in season 1? Outside of Dragonshy I can't think of anything. But yes, AJ is the most in need of more screen time. Hopefully her episodes this season won't involve her acting stupid or stubborn.

@Japanese Teeth: One episode, yes. And I mentioned that before. Just one episode compared to the amount of snootiness that she gets afflicted by seems to be juuuust a little bit lopsided.

@Ginger Ninja 666: I guess we'll just have to chalk that one up to differing character interpretations, until they give us a definitive answer on that. :p

Wanna bring that up from a couple pages back, (This is Crowfall's post, right?) That would be interesting if there was a falling out between Celestia and the other Elements over the Nightmare event, and she banished all of them in a heated moment. Dunno if the Eo H can be used that way, but maybe the New Lunar Republic (Drink!) theory has some credence after all, if Luna was planning treason...

What kind of episode premise would lend itself well to an Appleshy story?

The two get lost in the woods and Fluttershy hurts her wings, rendering her unable to fly. The two then try to make their way back to ponyville?

Appleshy would be pretty sweet, yeah. But I think Applejack already got a lot of screen time. "Fall Weather Friends", "Over a Barrel", the episode where she's tired whose name escapes me, to name a few.

I don't see Celestia freaking out and sending ponies into space for no good reason, but they could have been influenced by the same thing that corrupted Luna. That or they saw the opportunity of one day saving Luna and went willingly.

There could be an episode where Applejack's farm is being infested by critters and she needs Fluttershy's help to stop them from eating all her crops.

AFAIK, Applejack's problem is that she doesn't have anything to do as far as leisure goes. We really don't know what she does on a regular basis except tend to the farm.

Now that I look at the episode page, Rainbow Dash is the one who has the least screen time. While she's in quite a few episodes, only "Sonic Rainboom" is about her. RD's a pretty flat character, because all she seems to be is competitive and impulsive, which makes me not like her. She needs to have a nice character trait.

She gets plenty of screen time but not a lot of character time, and I'm pretty sure Over The Barrel doesn't count.

I was just thinking of how in Dragonshy, Fluttershy was able to bring out AJ's Team Mom side. I really wanna see more of that side of her

Exactly. She was such a bitch in that episode. Poor Dashie was obviously cracked and panicked, and she still went on with it. She doesn't even have the excuse of being blinded by excitement or anything, since she treated the whole thing as a very casual, blasé and run-of-the-mill thing

^Definitely not her best moment, no. Things like that're why I suggest everyone watch the episodes in order, even if Hasbro doesn't want us to get any lasting character development or relationship progression.

She was blinded by her wings. I can understand the rush of excitement she would feel, and how it might make her a bit show-offy, but she still gets real bitchy, real fast.

A shame, since she was the only one considerate enough to notice how upset RD was at the beginning of the episode

On an entirely unrelated note, this is is pretty good song.

Yeah, she was a bit of bitch in that episode. But still, I don't think that's enough to define her personality. I just think that out of all the characters, she swings between her best and worst sides a lot easier than the rest of the cast. Other characters seem to stay in the middle more.

I imagine the shifts in her personality seem so extreme because she's a bit hard to write for. Making a snobby character that's also meant to be kindly and generous can be a bit difficult to work with when our mindset say the former is something very specific and deviations from it are so rare that that particular sort of person acting kind seems almost inconceivable.

I'd say they write her really well at times though. Like in "Green Isn't Your Colour" Probably my fav Rarity episode

My favorite Rarity episode is Suited for Success. Which also happens to be my favorite episode period.

Green isn't your Color is good though, if only for the "Forever!" joke.
