Why is this such a big issue? Who cares if he qualifies or not, can we please go just one day without bringing this up? It's a pointless debate of semantics that was barely interesting the first time.
Hon, if he were irredeemably a
Complete Monster, he wouldn't be as popular as he is.
For one things, a
Complete Monster has
no excuse for their actions. I can think of one right off the top of my head- he's the embodiment of discord, disorder, and chaos. Meaning, behaving as he does is sort of necessity. And even then, it's a bit early to be declaring him a
Complete Monster, given that he's only been given one freakin' episode of development so far. Maybe the next one will elaborate on him more.
All in all, drop it 'cause no one cares so long as he's an entertaining character.

"And there was this sexy-ass nurse, and the guy's just like, 'BOOM SHOCKA-LOCKA-LOCKA BOOM SHOCKA-LOCKA-LOCKA.'"
Before this becomes an unnecessary flame war (like it ever will), who wants to see a Spike and Rarity episode?
Don't make me fire Pinky's party cannon.
..."A Dog And Pony Show"?
I have a message from another time...

Most of that episode was spent with Spike and co. rescuing Rarity. What I mean is, Spike and Rarity spending most of the time together in the episode.

I would like to see Rarity actually acknowledge Spike's feelings in an episode. I don't actually want them to end up together or anything, but so far Rarity has kind of been taking advantage of Spike, and it would be nice to see her let him down gently rather than stringing him along.

x 6 I do!
I also want to see a Mac episode. Maybe one that spoofs all those shipping fics written about him, or one where he's got to pull the
CM Cs out of a scrap.
Also, bitchy Fluttershy's tailsnap. It makes me feel.....odd. In a good way. Should I be concerned?
Edit: Ride me, this thread moves fast these days!

In another forum, I'm a sentient off road vehicle.
It's... pretty obvious. Rarity's under no circumstances nonobservant; the only way I can see her as not aware of Spike's crush is if she thinks it's just a natural thing for men to do around her, which is on the edge of believable for her.
I'm a college student! I don't have time for this!
Well she is able to snag a couple of guys to pull a carriage pretty easily, so I guess she's used to it.
Oh my GOD Discord has such a
dancing groove.
And yeah, one day Rarity will find a beau who suits her and our little friend will finally understand (plus his crush is extremely shallow, so I'm sure it'll be easy to overcome). Now I request an AMV with Spike/Rarity interactions on the theme of
Jet Set Radio Future's Concept Of Love.
UH.

An action is not virtuous merely because it is unpleasant to do.
^Right, right, fair enough. Have to remember not to ignore Rarity's less-savory character traits.

My guess is that she's aware that Spike "likes" her to a degree, but doesn't realize that it's gone into "crush" territory. As has been said, she gets male ponies to do stuff for her all the time; she probably assumes that Spike is the same way. So she's aware that he has some degree of affection for her, but doesn't catch on to just how strong it is.

Girls who use their appearance/charisma to get males to do stuff for them are a pet peeve of mine. Meeting
Prince Charmless may or may not have taught her anything, it's too soon to tell.

Maybe he could realize that he would be better off with Applebloom.
