Was Discord directly controlling all those clouds? Cuz if he was then that's some phenomenal multi-taking talent he's got there , since he was supposed to be all the way in Canterlot.

Well I didn't think of it because I somehow missed that meme completely. But judging by reaction threads just about everyone else on the internet jumped all over that.

Not just those clouds, RD said there was also a cola storm in Cloudsdale, and presumably there was weird weather everywhere else in Equestria.

So either he's an amazing multitasker or just that powerful.

He probably just created them and sent them off to do their thing. Exerting lots of fine control over a thousand different things doesn't seem his style.

Was chocolate rain a common occurance in the old Equestria? Because Celestia identified the threat very quickly as being Discord.

Maybe she figured he was the only one strong enough to do something like that

She had some time to figure out what was going on, it would have been as easy as checking the garden to see if his statue was there to know if it was him.

BTW I don't like cotton candy, so only chocolate rain is for me.

It's just... it's weird, is all. Cotton candy is dry and fluffy, and getting it we would dissolve it. The clouds just make more candy-related sense if they were bubblegum.

I'm sayin', even in terms of flyin' clouds made of candy raining down chocolate milk, cotton candy doesn't make sense. It wouldn't survive getting wet, and it wouldn't stick to Rainbow Dash in the way it does. Nor would it stretch when pulled. Cotton candy jus tpulls apart like, well, like cotton.

Now gum. Gum would get sticky when wet, instead of dissolving. And it would stick in just the right way to create the effect we see when Rainbow crashes into one.

Yes, I am serious about this distinction.

The only problem then becomes the fact that the rabbits and such really shouldn't be swallowing gum, if it were gum. But it's not gum. It's cotton candy that acts like gum.
